  1. Bwahahahah As the origional one is dead I can only assume you refer to our very own imposter in the silver dream machine :D
  2. Now that we are seeing the real side of those nice men on the telly like George Micheal convicted of flashing his tackle in public lavatories and Barrymore being found with a body with a severely damaged arse, it seems like celebrity pervs are being exposed all the time. Who do you think will be next?. Maybee we should have a sweepstake on it. I guess Dale Winton or Julian Clary :D:D Paul
  3. Get the RPS max clutch it comes with new slave cylinder, throwout bearing and pilot bush. also get a rear main crank seal from courtesy its part no 12279-18V00 Also time to fit a lightened flywheel. Lots of the dealers in the USA are doing deals if you order clutch and flywheel together. Paul
  4. Some interesting Top Fuel dragster facts: * One dragster's 500-inch Hemi makes more horsepower then the first 8 rows at Daytona * Under full throttle, a dragster engine consumes 1 1/2 gallons of nitro per second, the same rate of fuel consumption as a fully loaded 747 but with 4 times the energy volume. * The supercharger takes more power to drive then a stock hemi makes. * Even with nearly 3000 CFM of air being rammed in by the supercharger on overdrive, the fuel mixture is compressed into nearly-solid form before ignition. Cylinders run on the verge of hydraulic lock. * Dual magnetos apply 44 amps to each spark plug. This is the output of an arc welder in each cylinder. * At stoichiometric (exact) 1.7:1 air/fuel mixture (for nitro), the flame front of nitromethane measures 7050 degrees F. * Nitromethane burns yellow. The spectacular white flame seen above the stacks at night is raw burning hydrogen, dissociated from atmospheric water vapor by the searing exhaust gases. * Spark plug electrodes are totally consumed during a pass. After 1/2 way, the engine is dieseling from compression-plus the glow of exhaust valves at 1400 degrees F. The engine can only be shut down by cutting of it's fuel flow. * If spark momentarily fails early in the run, unburned nitro builds up in those cylinders and then explodes with a force that can blow cylinder heads off the block in pieces or blow the block in half. * Dragsters twist the crank (torsionally) so far (20 degrees in the big end of the track) that sometimes cam lobes are ground offset from front to rear to re-phase the valve timing somewhere closer to synchronization with the pistons. * To exceed 300mph in 4.5 seconds dragsters must accelerate at an average of over 4G's. But in reaching 200 mph well before 1/2 track, launch acceleration is closer to 8G's. * If all the equipment is paid off, the crew worked for free, and for once NOTHING BLOWS UP, each run costs $1000.00 per second. * Dragsters reach over 300 miles per hour before you have read this sentence.
  5. No it just means that it cant be used anymore. If you get your aircon recharged now they use a different gas.
  6. The problem is that you have to calibrate the power meter at 25 mph and if you do it with your speedo the speedo may be only 2mph out at 25 but that will mean your power meter will be reading 8mph out at 100mph due to the accumulative error. As the power meter only times the pulses from the gearbox speed sensor it will be very accurate if it is set up with a GPS and not your speedo. Stock speedos will never be very accurate it doesnt matter what you do to them. If you get an exact weight and true speed calibration then the power reading should be quite accurate to. Because if you know the time taken to accelerate a given mass to a given velocity you can calculate the power expended to do this unless of course the laws of physics are incorrect!! In fact it possibly gives you a more 'real world' reading as your car has to fight wind resistance, road friction and has more air forced through the intercoolers when moving. Paul
  7. check these links for some info. http://www.twinturbo.net/cgi-bin/ttnet_viewmsg.pl?forum=main&msg_id=694402 http://cherrypicker.tripod.com/turboupgradeforvg30dett/ you must look at upgrading intercoolers and injectors as well or you wont feel the full benefit of them you will still be limited by your fueling and stuck with a limit of 15/16 psi. Paul

Welcome aboard Cant answer much about auto's cos mines manual but i think the hold button stops the box from kicking down, There's plenty of auto experts here to help ya :D I dont think they are that bad on fuel either, you can get 20mpg around town if your not thrashing it and 25+ on the motorway. Dont trust the stock boost gauge anyway they are crap. Have fun and take it easy in the wet ;) Paul
  15. I am pretty sure Nissan will sell them in the UK after a while so it may pay you to wait a while. They intend to keep the price down as well to compete with the MR2 range. but that remains to be seen ;) Paul

Just like you need 2 women, its good to have the nice kind one at home who is good in the kitchen, but sometimes you feel like a dirty Pam Anderson type one with stillettos and lots of red lipstick as well. :D Paul
