June meeting
I might pop along to this one, if the shoyt paint job on my Z manages to last the blast down the motorway without completely peeling off and leaving me BARE and unprimered. (Not a dig at Rainbow ZTT, honest..cough). Cheers, -Stu

Oil Seals?
Lets resurrect this thread as shes still not running right - yet the smoke has stopped! This happened after it sprung another water leak as mentioned in another thread the small 3" pipe that feeds the pass turbo coolant. Now it seems to be a random det sensor issue - Firstly the wiring at the det sensor plugs was a bit cooked & was showing bare on each side of plug so I stripped all that cleaned it and crimped on bullet connectors - reconnected battery, started her up - idled perfect, let her reach temp went for a run 9/10PSI every gear excellent its fixed.... ...Until i come home park up then today I decide to go out for a run today and yet again code 34 det sensor with only 4 sometimes 5 PSI of boost! I've had datascan hooked up to it and I cant see anything out of the norm, everything appears to be working as it should - Altho I'm no expert! Checked all boost pipes, coil connectors, o2 connectors etc etc - I'm at a loss now. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks -Stu

Best way to change this?
Well after many hours and a few good mates its been fixed with long nose pliers and a coat hanger :whack: Oh yes and some female hands came in sort of handy, shame she didn't know how to use them doh! Long live the Z! :) -Stu

Best way to change this?
looks like a barsteward to do - seems the long nose pliers i've got ain't long enough. Need some extra extra long ones maybe? Don't want to be dropping off the zorst and turbo if i can avoid it. -Stu

Best way to change this?
Hi All, Seems ive got a water leak and have pinpointed it to a small hose at back of block - Can anyone suggest best way of doing this, do i need to drop off exhaust? (See attachment pic - pic for pipe location info only, engine still in car). Thanks. -Stu

Courier companies
I tried them and they said it was too big due to the calculated volumetric weight - it was 7kg's wrapped. Have read parcel force will take a bumper if u take it into the post office (I'm serious, if it fits in a van they will send it!). I had to resort to a courier for a full kit tho.

Oil Seals?
Well, the car still pulled OK with the boost leak, it only became apparent when idle went lumpy - altho when this happened I was probably put on safety boost and didn't know... only having had the car 6 hours :-) It feels like it pulls strong now, but doesn't seem quite as neck break as it did when I picked it up, perhaps i'm just getting used to it? either that or the v-power up here sucks. lol -Stu

Oil Seals?
Hi, I know its a good car and I fully trust Paul - It looks like the seals were probably already on their way out on the one side and as someone mentioned previously - me fixing the vac leak may have aided the expiry of the seals. The last couple of days it appears to be running OK other than using a bit of oil due to the turbo seal... hasn't used a drop of water so i'm hoping compression wise its fine but will get it checked out just to be safe. Cheers, -Stu

Oil Seals?
Hi, Hard to explain... it was a small vac pipe that went from a nipple on the lower right of the right hand intake plenum (if facing engine) and seemed to run under that sides intake pipes towards the slam panel - I think it terminated into a metal pipe around that bit - All i did was snip end off it and plumb it back on. Thanks, -Stu

Oil Seals?

Oil Seals?
Hi Paul, I know shes a good one mate, just all week i've been plagued with running issues and I was starting to get a bit annoyed... but i know this comes with the territory.. forums are good for a rant! :-) Had her out at Banzai yesterday and she run great for 99% of the trip there and back, but she seemed to of spat out her dip stick on the run home which then forced safety boost again. Do oil surges spit out dipsticks? :-S And on that note.. what Oil did you put in her Paul? Top up sheet doesn't state which oil was used. All in all I think its a great car and I thank you for making it so :) -Stu

Water leak at rear of motor
I'm new to Z ownership but in my exp theres always a pipe right at the back of the block that goes into the bulkhead.. thats always a ******* to get to. Where abouts is the leak coming from? Top, middle, bottom of bay?

April meeting

Oil Seals?
Hi Steve - I think your right, however,... Upon doing more poking about today and the car going into safety boost lastnight... and then running on what seemed like 4 cyls... Just about EVERY hose clip relating to fuel pipes were finger tight.. every one had to be tightened, i noticed this after noticing a fuel smell from the back of one of the injectors which lead to finding a small pool of fuel heh! Doesnt seem to be smoking as much now this has been done. I have also used a small dab of locktite on 3 of the coil plugs as someone has thoughtfully butchered the clips on them. I think the last owner was trying to kill me as not even one wheel nut was tight on the front wheels either.... ..Ive only had it a week and I already know my way about under the bonnet quite well, damn jap crap  lol -Stu
