  1. nice to hear from you mate!!! :duffer: glad all's well down there. and in Australia as well :x:
  2. welcome mate - the fibreglass replacements dont need both arms to lift!
  3. wasnt he in the original Deathrace? RIP :(
  4. may be seeing it this Sunday :hyper: as sumshiftyguy says i hope its more oldskool and not a tongue-in-cheek piss-take like T3 was in some parts.
  5. and every one of them dragged mate believe me :( theres a point on my journey to work where i pull out from a T-junction onto a busy 50mph road, so id have to wait until i saw a gap or slow moving car, pull out, watch the boost gauge as i applied my throttle to make sure i wasnt on boost, then holding the throttle lightly down at that spot id watch my rev counter until i hit 3000, then i could change up into 2nd and do the same again... ...all this time there's a bloody great cement lorry baring down on me expecting me to floor it - you could even see the shadow of it falling over the car as im matching the accelleration of a push-bike. im glad to say those miles are behind me now!
  6. the advice i was given by the chap who rebuilt mine was 500 miles with crap oil off boost below 3k. oil change for slightly better, then 500 miles below 4k. then oil change then 1k miles below 4k with a bit of boost. then oil change then 1k miles below 5k with stock boost. then oil change then it should be done
  7. i just heard hazel blears has left the cabinet. poor old Gord :D
  8. ermm, thanks Nick. can i pretend i didnt read your post! lol
  9. well its been installed so im going to find out! [not with this weather though ;) ]
  10. really sorry to hear this mate :( youve put so much time and energy into her. im know your decision is for the best.
  11. i was going to say if it was an auto it might not be worth having aftermarket BOVs installed because the car changes up through the gears without the need to back off the throttle, so the only way to get an auto to dump is to literally throttle off (pssshhht), then throttle on, then the car changes up!
  12. my temp sits nice and low while driving, but when stationary it starts to creep up a little too much for my liking - this is probably due to a) my numberplate used to cover pretty much the whole of the front bumper, and b) since i installed a twin intake kit, it runs quite lumpy and at about 600rpm. i think this is likely giving the cooling system a hard time. i need to blip the throttle, or even hold it down slightly, just to bring the temp down. now that my number plate is smaller and i have a vent cut into the bonnet, no doubt this well help, but im hoping that getting the rough idle sorted (maybe going back to a single filter), and possibly installing one of these overdrive water pulleys should do the trick.
  13. you cant make them louder as they are recirculating ones - the boost is held in pipes and fed back into the turbos (highly technical there!) when youre back on the throttle. aftermarket ones are atmospheric dump valves, where the boost is dumped into the air (and therefore audible). is your motor an auto or manual mate?
  14. Dan - these overdrive water pump pulleys - I take it theyre not necessarily heavier than stock (i.e. counteracting the weight saved from the crank pulley)? Also do you need to use different belts when installing an overdrive one? Price?
  15. @Si - thanks for the comments - I would have liked an anthracite/gunmetal colour but im sure it wont take long for the silver colour to dull a little by itself @Car.Mad - once my Eibachs are on at the rear I'll get some more photos ;)
  16. lol youre not wrong, ive noticed a couple of posts from this new bloke, only to realise its me!!
  17. why not! fed up of the old one, thought id go with a new name to suit the motor's third image change, lol!

  21. IMO that looks fantastic as it is! although perhaps go with the 275s, just to get that extra centimetre width
