grr, im typing this on my old PC. the PSU of my current PC just went pop! noticed a toxic burning smell yesterday afternoon and managed to sniff it down to the PSU - specifically the rear of the PSU. noticed the fan wasnt rotating so switched it off and then went out for new years. started her up today after tinkering a bit and the fan still wasnt going round (a 3-month-old Antec 500W!) so thought id just check my email and look at the website that i bought it off to try and sort a replacement when POP the thing died. im really hoping that the components survived (the trip box downstairs tripped out so hopefully that might have caught the surge before it did any more damage). ive got a £120 gfx card in, and there's the motherboard too :( i hope theyve made it. i'll give the retailer (eBuyer) a ring tomorrow and see if i can sort something out. what a PITA :rant:

interesting project though. i sold a Rover 2300 SD1 about 2/3 months ago to someone who likes tinkering with cars, but this isnt him.

no theyre there to help measure the air/fuel mix. the AIV is removed when you decat. if you can find someone with a Consult then that will tell you straight away how well your sensors are behaving.

i have a similar problem, although it only happens occasionally upon decelleration. i get one single pop out the exhaust. one of my o2 sensors is 'lazy' ie. slow to respond to changes in mixture i think. i have BOVs installed too which doesnt really help.

Me and this missus are stuck for something to do - we've been invited round a mate's but i think we'd rather go out. nothing fancy or expensive, and preferably not a crappy nightclub, and also within the midlands. any suggestions guys n gals?

although i cant wait to get my dirty little hands on a ps3, i'm going to hold out until theres at least 2 games that i'd really want, eg. a rally game and something else. by then the price will have thinned down a bit, and the games developers will have learned more about the machine to make better games.

lol, most of the EBCs can do that anyway - my Blitz DSBC has 4 'channels' you can change between just by turning a dial - so you can have 4 stages. most EBCs do 'overboost' too - called scramble boost. i'd keep away from that one, looks like he knocked it up himself from his garage!

lol, already posted this up on Torque Power but here we go again: got up and downstairs for 9am, glass of sherry, opened pressies, stopped dogs arguing over whose bacon-flavour bone was whose, cooked dinner (10lb triple-bird with peas and roast spuds), put a Crystal Maze DVD on that I got for mum, played with new sat-nav, watched Harry Potter (lol), watched Doctor Who, watched half of Strictly but got boring after the climax of the final (two days ago!) up here about to blast away at some yanks on BF2. so not too bad really :dance:
