another windscreen question
just to finish off this story, I could not go up the thurs. I had booked originally due to the leak situation so I re-booked for last wed. I rang them at 8am(call centre) before I left Dublin, all ok. I get there to depot, 1 hour drive, no windscreen, I go mental, say I am going to charge them petrol and expense, nice manager tells me the screen is still in the UK, they thought they had one in stock in Belfast gave me the price of £225, then couldn't find it, so had to get one from over there which should have been more expensive, I left the car with him overnight and he knocked £50 off the price. all good, and yes funkysi was right its a Pilkington screen. thanks to all as usual for the advice.

Congratulations to gary
congrats Gary, I was just nosing around the Ireland section, I think the most we ever had at a meet was 6 possibly 7, I actually organised the first meet ever I think in 2004, 3 cars and Adam(young 300zx lover) we did a couple of shows, we went up north, and went on a run with a couple of zclub members over here and then they went up to Gary. the good old days.

ireland shows
myself and the sister are trying to attend a few shows, actually im making her come with me, 6th June we did the Terenure car show, there was one other z32 there, silver but we did not meet the owner. Today we did the Trim classic car show, no other z32, but there was a stunning 240z, no sign of the owner, I will get pic up. had a bit of fun on the m50 on the way home, all legal, driving side by side, I would have loved to see the view from behind. last night I went on a bit of a cruise with younger people. I think I might try get a bit of space at Japfest in Sept. (Irelands premier??? jap car show at Mondello) or there is Heatwave at Fairyhouse on 30th Aug, what you think dmaprelude, hans, royztt, and gary and co.

rear shocks how much?
I remember buying a set a few years ago for the red one, I think from the z centre, and they were cheap as chips for oem ones, because at that time not many wanted them seemingly, most were going for fancier ones. I will shop around, thanks

rear shocks how much?
the rear shocks on the swb are gone, any idea how much a new set of oem ones are?

strange overheating/water loss problem
thanks Jeff and all, I got the system pressure tested yesterday, he gradually built it up to about 1.5 bar, there was a leak from the rad hose on the left as you look in, the bottom one, also a leak from a pipe behind where the temp housing is, so he took it in today, cleaned the hard pipes, somebody had the hoses off before and there was lots of silicone on them, flushed out the whole system, pressure tested it again, then left it running for 2 hours before I collected it, all seems fine.

25th Anniversary meet - Action required
OMG, I nearly made a very very expensive mistake, I think, lucky I always read everything, I spoke to my sister last night, had her persuaded, based on cost, to come over for this special meet, I was there for the 20th Anniversary at JAE, looked at ferry cost this morning, times etc., just about to make final decision when I see in this post "can park in the city centre and stroll up" am I reading this right? There is only room for 50 cars on display?

strange overheating/water loss problem
200 mile round trip today, motorway and b roads, nothing over 12km ph, all of a sudden I could feel heat when I stopped at traffic lights, temp gauge rising, lucky I was 1 minute from my fathers house, got there switched her off, and could hear the water boiling. I left it for 2 hours, opened the rad cap, put water in it took a lot, with some coming out on the drip tray, moved the car forward to a dty patch, left it 40 mins, went back out, ground dry, topped it up, this time it lost nothing, drove it home, 20 klms. Temp gauge never moved. Any ideas, I had forgotten the excitement of z driving ...... not
