  1. many members here have had accidents where the cars are written off. Are they all youngsters? Should they all have been banned from owning fast cars/ Life is life, accidents happen. Not the dealer's responsibility.
  2. Get a co2 bottle from your local publican/ social club etc. It cost's them very little and you can get a regulator for the bottle for about £15 from machine mart. Or.... Argon/ Argoshield from BOC, Though this costs about £80 intially (Gas and bottle rental) then about £40 per year for bottle hire. Argon is slightly easier/ neater to use, but way more expensive.

So sorry to hear your news. God Bless
  4. Good Luck mate- as mentioned earlier- It's all down to price.
  5. My cheque for my first years subs (a Nearly 2 years ago) was never received - and never cashed either. Best to do Paypal if you can
  6. I know she had an old van in Darling buds of may....... is it the same one?
  7. From an old Glass's guide and also an old CAP black book (trade guide) the UK car is listed as Nissan 300ZX Coupe. (the word "Turbo" is not mentioned) The insurance company will get their info from the same sources that the guides get it from. I would guess that a UK car will be listed on the V5c as 300ZX or 300ZX Coupe. There will be no mention of Turbo or Twin Turbo because officially there was only one version sold in the UK
  8. This was on eBay a few months back, for sale in England (as opposed to Ireland as it is now). I think it made about £2500 ish.
  9. If you go for a trade insurance policy be aware that most campanies will only offer "Trade" value for your car if you have a smash/ total loss, unless you agree a value with them beforehand (Unusual with trade). Also, most companies offering trade policies will want to know what cars you own at the time of proposing. This is so that they can decide if you are asking for a trade policy because you have a high risk car which would otherwise carry a high premium if insured on it's own. I had a total loss in 1999, not my fault. My insurance (trade policy) would only pay out trade value. I decided to claim the other drivers insurance as a third party and they paid out more than double (Retail value) what my own insurer said they would offer if I claimed on my policy. (BTW my insurer advised me on how to do this and I was paid out by the other guy's insurer in 3 weeks!) My Z is insured seperately with Houghtons This is just my experience, others with trade policies may have a different view but the acid test is when you need to claim!

Hi Scott, got your pm. I'm away on holiday for 3 weeks from 21st June or I'd have come Leonard
  11. Hi, please can anyone help or advise me on this. I have a Volvo S60 2.4T. I parked it last night, locked it and when I went to it today, it turned over but wouldn't start. I got a message in the display unit on the dash saying "Immobiliser- see manual". This just sets out the correct starting procedure. I've tried all 3 keys, I disconnected the battery for 5 minutes and retried- no luck. I have disconnected the battery and put it on charge overnight. I also checked the fuses for the coils, injectors, ecu etc, they're ok. Any ideas? (short of burning it!)
  12. As the year progresses, I would expect that you will either subsequently be paid for the time "Docked" from your pay OR that you will accrue the unpaid hols - to be taken at a later date. The portion of the holiday that you have had deducted from your pay, has, in effect become "unpaid leave" and not a holiday. either way you shouldn't lose out
  13. Hi Andrew, any progress with insurance?
  14. I have, new hicas arms= £8 each. Fast delivery. no probs
  15. Is this the car? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18301&item=4539980626&rd=1
  16. I had a couple of Irocs years back. Quite quick, cheap for mechanical bits, cheap for go fast bits but really poor build quality- love to rust!! sound great but not as fast as they look if std. good luck mate
  17. Thanks, I've done a search (as I should have done in the first place!) and got the general jist of it
  18. Hi- does anyone have experience of these? If so, what are the benefits? I have a apxi safc (for twin maf set-up)& avcr to be fitted eventually, will a wideband sensor work with this? What state of tune is it suited to? all advice appreciated
  19. Hi- I saw 2 zeds within minutes of each other. A Grey one on Hamilton Rd, Motherwell (I think UK model) and a Silver import in the Park this evening. (I was in a red SWB TT.)
  20. Took my paperwork to the Police office today, the desk PC who checked it knew it wasn't an offence etc, etc, took a photocopy of the DVLA import web page to send onto the Traffic guys who stopped me. Sorted now I hope!
  21. Thanks to everyone for the help- Twinpier thanks- it is clearly stated in the DVLA website. http://www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/exptimpt.htm I just could find it in the 30 minute panic after getting pulled - and escorted home! The traffic police just hadn't ever had to deal with it before. They weren't arsey in any way when they pulled me, just unsure of the law. They asked why I hadn't registered it before going for an MOT, why I didn't keep the Jap plates on it (they remove the plates at deregistration in Japan). They then escorted me home "because they didn't want me on the road without plates"!- good service! Leonard
  22. It was insured, it was MOT'd - on the chassis/ vin number . ( 12 year old import NEEDS an MOT cert in order to get it registered with DVLA) - I've done Pajero's in the past
  23. Hi- please can anyone tell me the absolute legal point on this- I booked a Z (unreg'd) in for an MOT. Drove there, tested, driving home and got pulled by Traffic Police. I explained the situation and they were not convinced that it was legal to drive without any plates. However- they were not sure and are going to check it out. I got a "HORT1", I'm sure the law states that even an unreg'd import can be driven to/from booked MOT without plates, but try as I have, so far I can't find anything I can refer to if I need to debate this with the police. Can anyone help thanks Leonard
  24. That's a Falkirk (Central Scotland) phone number
