oh and my top 10 list: 1. Blade Runner (sound track is stunning, have 3 disk version soundtrack by Vangelis) 2. Aliens (what can i say, epic) 3. Terminator 2 (epic) 4. Green Mile (tear jerk heaven) 5. AKIRA (stunning animation for its time) 6. The Matrix (didnt see this series coming, blown away) 7. The Champ (i casually came accross this on telly one night, cried like a baby, see before you die) 8. LEON (amazing film) 9. Goodfellas (Joe Pesci is a talented guy) 10. My Cousin Vinny (Joe Pesci, had me in stitches, love this guy)

BLADE RUNNER! END OF!!! I watched this film over 3000 times easily (seriously) btw, if you want watch a tear jerker..... THE CHAMP, i cried my eyes out at it (and im a bloke who never cried), the fookin kid makes you weep buckets, a must see!!

sudden whooshing sound and steam!
You say this, but i took my compressor off and mine permanently alters revs to compensate, whenever i switch Economy on or off. I leave it on when im booting it though, it stalls after boost otherwise, presume its the BoV's ^^

AVCR Settings Info
Ok after a lot of searching i found this, i could never find anything that actually detailed what each setting was for and the manual is limited. http://www.fd3s.net/avc-r_install.html Also note the links at the bottom of the page for diagrams. :D

Im aware of that mate, it was just an example to try an explain the issue. Im still amazed it cant exact match a search phrase, brings up lots of useless posts otherwise, which means you still have to trawl through them. Just my 2 cents anyway, no biggie :hyper:

Agreed, the search function on this site is awful, cant seem to search for phrases like "idle issue" ive stopped using it as a result. its only seems to match individual words like "idle" OR "issue".

Well i used Contact Cleaner on mine, althought it was spotless already, didnt damage mine.

but didnt you say it was still sparking on 5 cylinders with your S1 PTU? and its not firing at all on the S2? Put your S1 back in and see if it still fires, if it does then looks like both PTUs = buggered or the connections at least. Or you have your original unknown problem and your S2 PTU is duff.

Pete, gonna sounds nuts, but make sure your loom connector is secured into your ECU, ive seen this before where and old mate was getting random issue he couldnt explain. On Z's there is a nut that holds the connector in place, if thats come loose...well you know.. worth a look at least to eliminate it.

Lumpy Idle Problem / Missing etc
I read on another post that some had removed their cone air filter and covered the maf a bit and the idle settles down. So i tried this last night, i covered half of the MAF with my hand, and it DOES settle down. If i cover the whole MAF it obviously stalls. One thing i did noticed too, is the when i cover half the MAF, the revs increase oh so very slightly. this could be mistaken for it settling down, because my car sounds fine above 1500 RPM. Why does restricting the air flow to the MAF settle the idle down, increase the revs slightly and stop it chugging?

Ok, so i did as suggested set the AVCR to OFF, expecting to get the cars natural boost.... Nope, i got 0.3 bar. NOT HAPPY So last night i went to the shop and thought sod it i'll have another fiddle with it. So i set the DUTY to 80%. It was on 70% in previous tests. Kaboom, real boost, went like sh*t of a stick. :duffer::duffer::duffer: So this begs the question, people say i should be running around 58% DUTY and im running 80%, what does this mean in technical terms?

Cheers Si, im not even sure of the drivers side one is connected, its of the axle stands now so i cant even poke my head under to check. Anyone else got any input?

Yeah removal of the iav system is fine, i never removed it, might have been like this when i bought it, or it could have been removed when the engine was rebuilt. Si, see the first pic, imagine that WITHOUT the plug and the shaft, see the shape of the heat shield? well there is a big hole the shape of the heat shield, were the iav pipe should be (or egr pipe, not sure which). Its really blowing pretty bad, amazing it passed its mot, how would this hole affect the engine running? Its blowing more from the drivers side pipe and less on the passenger side. I was hoping it was this hole causing the difference.

I have discovered i have a hole in my exhaust, a big one, here: As in that above photo, but without the plug, its on the passenger side. You can see in this pic what SHOULD go here: How would this affect my engine?

After a cheap Mongoose catback
Im not to good with the Z exhaist system, its all new to me. What IS a CAT BACK system? How is it different from the normal backbox? Sorry, but i really dont have a clue when it comes to the Z's exhaust. I need to replace mine, so would love to know the difference.
