Air polisher - is it worn out?
Hi all. I recently bought one of these on fleabay:- The seller said it had been used ONCE, but even at 90psi it doesn't feel that powerful and I can slow it down quite easily. Has anyone else got one of these and if so, are they just not generally very powerful or should it maintain 2500rpm at any loading? Thanks, Dave

Seat retrimming
I went to Menai upholstery and they said they couldn't do anything as it would take too long and that it would be easier to find brand new covers FFS!

Seat retrimming
OK, cheers. I wondered how much I should be paying for a seat repair. The trouble is that I only need the upright part repairing and don't want to part with £400 for a whole new set of covers. They are not for a zed and the ones I bought from US ebay use the same material, but the design is slightly different, which means they won't fit!

Seat retrimming
Hi all. I just wondered if anyone knows of a company that might be able to stitch in a new panel in a driver's seat. I have the material already. Cheers Dave.

Which headers/manifolds?
Hi all, I'm considering replacing the exhaust manifolds with more efficient ones. I'm also going to fit 360 deg bearings to the T25s and wondered if anyone could recommend any alternatives to the stock ones. So far, I've seen these on e-bay, but I've heard that the cast ones are better than stainless ones and that there was once a good AMS copy:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280515461614 Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Another British company gets sold off
Nice! So WE, as taxpayers, are lending OUR money to an American takeover of a British company. I noticed that the government didn't have anything to say? Very odd. Apparently Kraft didn't guarantee that there would be no job losses :-(

Another British company gets sold off
I took my 3 year old daughter around this factory and I remember being stunned that it was still British-owned. Not anymore. We can't seem to keep anything British nowadays. It doesn't affect me personally, but it still pisses me off every time I hear about another foreign takeover. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704561004575012733950862948.html?mod=WSJ_mgmt_LeftTopNews

a bit of wheel help
Hi there. I'm no expert, but this might help:- http://www.classcampers.com/Technical/VWCamperAlloyWheelsListandFitmentGuide/tabid/983/Default.aspx 112 must be the PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter) of the 5 stud holes in millimetres and the 35 must be a 35mm offset from the hub I guess?

Another step towards total government control
I'm fookin stunned at this. I rented my old house out to a "Mate" and his dumbass bird. She was so fookin thick she couldn't even fill out the forms, so I got no rent for 3 months. I decided to let it go, but within 4 months she said that the doctor had "recommended" that they have central heating installed as the cold was making her ill. I decided to invest a few thousand and got the job done. Within one month of paying for this, and countless other things to keep them happy, they complained that they had mice and a rat. When I turned up, the lazy cow had let her kids dump food behind the settee, which had gone off. She then moved out without any notice and completely trashed the place. Even half of the double glazed windows were cracked. I kept the measly deposit and even got loads of shit off them for that. Strangely the rat and mice disappeared once I had fumigated the place. I would never rent again, but if I had to, I would have a sign in the windows saying "DSS - Piss Off!"

What will the next reg plate be?
I'm not keen on the new plates. They could have just kept the old regions and put all 4 letters together, followed by the 3 numbers. In 21 years' time they could have reversed the numbers with the letters, then in 42 years' time put the 'year' letter after the region ones. In total, the old system could have run for another 84 years instead of this shitty system. We would still be able to tell where a car came from and the potential for generating large revenues from private-plate sales would be greatly increased. Dumb decision by the DVLA IMO. Example:- CRN 321S - 1977 S321 CRN - 1998 CRNS 321 - 2019 321 CRNS - 2040 SCRN 321 - 2061 321 SCRN - 2082

Maybe it might work if he partitioned it into two 2Gb partitions formatted as FAT16? Just a thought.

Hats off to this guy..............
Fair play to this man. I'm always telling the missus that it pisses me off that Councils are too tight to pay for someone to fly the national flag over here, but can afford to send staff abroad to assist foreigners in filling out British immigration forms FFS - WTF is that all about? In the USA you see their flag EVERYWHERE. I suppose national pride IS at an all time low though! We've just had yet another council chief resign due to suspected fraudulent behaviour. It's rife in Anglesey Borough Council - the whole shower need cleaning out because it's been going on for decades here now.

Is inner-city Britain the worst place on earth to live?
I agree partly with the fact that she shouldn't have taken her daughter's life, but apparently she did it because she was scared that she might continue alone to suffer at the hands of those thugs. She WAS mentally ill, but it's hardly surprising after 15 years of torment. Some interesting comments on here and I think the conclusion is that if you are fit enough to police your own street, then do so, but very carefully and until you've emigrated to a nicer place! Oh and I suppose at least some of us are old enough to remember a time when you were proud to be British. Hold on to those memories while all our remaining industry vanishes and we are bred out of our own country.

Is inner-city Britain the worst place on earth to live?
Makes me wonder after reading this:- http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article6838691.ece A despairing mother killed herself and her disabled daughter by setting her car on fire after enduring a relentless campaign of abuse from a gang of youths. Unable to cope with the torment Fiona Pilkington, 38, drove with 18-year-old daughter Francecca Hardwick to a lay-by with a 10-litre can of petrol. The single mother then doused old clothes in the back of the blue Austin Maestro before setting light to it with her daughter and herself still inside. Some comments, all of which, I agree with:- max martin wrote: This story is so very sad. These poor, vulnerable people had an intolerable life but this is the way things are going in Great Britain. It seems a lost battle to try to protect the weak. As a senior teacher, I have worked hard all my life in the fight against bullies and this moral decline. Now I hate my home country so much that I have moved to Portugal. In the countryside, it is like stepping back 50 years. Here there is still respect for others and old fashioned moral values. Here it is the old people who hang around on street benches and they keep an eye out for other. If someones children behaved so unthinkably badly like this, then they would be told, be ashamed and certainly be expected to do something about their disgusting offspring. Sorry to leave a sinking ship but I have earned it. rudolf schwarzkopf-zskai wrote: I used to live in Nottingham, where I endured years of hooliganism, vandalism to cars and houses, graffiti, mugging of my visitors, stones through my windows, kids ruining my garden. I leant quickly not to engage with this sub-species of low life, as this would lead to more trouble for me in the long run. The Tony Martin case was the turning point for me, when I realized clear as crystal that British people are not truly free to live in freedom as I understand that word to mean. I was living in a form of enslavement to these local yobs, where they ruled the turf, and I skulked behind curtains in my house in a state of semi-siege. Five years ago I was fortunate in that I was able to take up an emloyment offer in Houston, Texas. What a difference!! I have never been woken up in the night by the sound of breaking glass, or the eerie light of a car set on fire, the pavements are not smeared wih dog mess, there's no graffiti, and should a Texan catch an intruder in his house and shoot him, it's rare a grand jury would consider pressing charges. When my British friends sit and sneer about the vulgarity of the US, specifically 'the guns and the violence', they have not a single clue what they are talking about. I'm now in the process of getting my papers to stay here permanently, and stories like the one you have carried today confirm more than ever my sadness at the inability of UK to shake itself out of this do-gooding-the-criminal-is-just-a-misunderstood-victim-of-society ethos. Alexis Thompson wrote: I'm glad I'm living in America after reading this story. Bad things happen here but we as people or as a community are not held hostage by bullies. We have self defence laws, neighorhood watches, policy that actually show up and administer justice of some sort. If all else fails, record them doing the horrid things they did by camera or even by cell phone then take the film to a lawyer and sue the living daylights out of em. :-) Got to love the American way David Varcoe wrote: I have read this article in despair at the continuing saga of feral youth behaviour in UK, the lack of strong police presence and responsibility of parents. It has to be recognised there is a sub species of ignorant, non working benefit claiming adults in UK whose standards, or rather lack of, pass on to their children - not that this excuses them. UK is reaping the inevitable consequences of a weak, soft, ill lead society divided by "us and them". I grew up in the 70's and this sort of thing was virtually unimaginable even that recently. I am utterly appalled at what Britain has become - those responsible for its care and its future should hang their heads in shame. Within 70 years, the greatest country on earth has been reduced to an over-crowded lawless shadow. The heart of the greatest Empire in history is now nothing more than a puppet
