  1. I took mine in for an MOT too and I know exactly how you feel! After driving an LPG Vectra for 2 years it was like being strapped to a missile!
  2. That comment could easily be misconstrued :D Well done, it's more than half the battle once the motor's back in!
  3. Thanks guys. I'm picking one up from my local Nissan dealership next week. ;)
  4. I've just repaired the 42 year old stereo FM radio in my project Vette. I doubt there's going to be an easy retrofit for that. I guess AM will go on forever, because even the whole band can't carry much data and is therefore of no value to our greedy, "democratic" governments.
  5. Hmmm - I think there's more chance of VAT coming down!
  6. I've used satellite (SiriusXM) radios over there and they have lots of crystal-clear stations, unless you go under a bridge lol! You have to pay a subscription of $12.95 or $16.99 a month. There are no similar satellites planned for the UK although there are some European ones already transmitting. http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/telecoms/article3949571.ece
  7. I just wondered if anyone else knew that the 88-108MHz FM band is going to be switched off here in 2015? I only just found out and I think it's ridiculous because nearly everyone I know uses analogue FM still, mainly because it's more reliable - especially in cars! It looks like it's only happening in Britain too. Our scavenging Government obviously want to sell of yet more bandwidth. :xxx:
  8. Wow, the Nissan dealer is cheapest - that must be a first! Thanks Yowser. Dave
  9. Thanks guys. I've just sent an email to you Eric with the contract info. Dave
  10. Hi everyone, Does anyone know where is cheapest for the '99-spec rear perspex strip? Cheers, Dave
  11. Hi everyone. I'm trying to get hold of someone from DTA for a password and licence code for Conzult. My laptop HDD recently died and I need to re-install the s/w. Can anyone help? I hit a brick wall trying to get hold of these codes a few months ago too! Many thanks, Dave
  12. £162 fully comp with £150 excess from Carole Nash and with full AA relay/home start membership. Might be worth a shot?
  13. You're welcome! Thanks Alan, that's amazing!
  14. Yeah - the 'Golden Era' seems to have reached an end. At least Z32s are still running!
  15. Before it lands and becomes history I thought I'd put up some pics of the launch and an audio file from the radio received with my scanner while I was there. I'm so glad my 7 year old daughter got to see a bit of history while we were on holiday! Here's the recording of the AM signal to and from Atlantis. It's a bit noisy! http://www.filedropper.com/atlantissts-135audio .
  16. I'm in the States at the moment and just heard about what's happening to the Murdoch Empire. It has made my holiday.
  17. Be careful, the description reads "They are fitted with a unique 10mm wedge plug fitment to allow quick and easy fitment to vehicle side repeaters [if applicable for this use]." It sounds like they're covering their arses and that they are just a generic fitment. While we're on the subject, does anyone know if the crystal clear side indicators/sidelights on ebay for the Z32 are any good(e.g. good fit and don't allow water in/corrode)? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CRYSTAL-CLEAR-INDICATORS-NISSAN-300ZX-/400165122670?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5d2bb3326e Thanks, Dave
  18. OK, thanks for clearing that up. The fact that the blower fan speed isn't cycling through confirms it's an S1 ECU. I bought a known-good S1 pod today and connected it up to the supposed S2 ECU and it runs identically to the S1 ECU and proves that I didn't get a good deal for my £50, albeit 2 years ago! Anyway I've got a good S1 setup for now. Thanks guys, Dave
  19. Hi. I get ID not found. I thought Paul was still on here?
  20. I'm trying to send this to Paul, but he is no longer able to receive PMs. Hi Paul. I know it's a while ago now, but I've only just got round to fitting the Series 2 Pod and aircon ECU, which I bought from you. The pod is obviously an S2, but the ECU is definitely an S1 because it does strange things when attached to an S2 pod, but works fine on the S1 pod. I just wondered if you still have an S2 ECU around anywhere or know of someone who does? Thanks, Dave
  21. Wow! Lots of different number going on here then. I opened the two up to have a look at the internal PCB and the two look IDENTICAL inside. Being an electronics engineer I'd expect some board/component revisions other than just software. One of the numbers on top of each of the 27C256 EPROMS were slightly different, but nothing else. I wonder if anyone has an S2 .bin file out there?
  22. Hi. This is the label on the original one, which is definitely S1, because the car is a 1990 and came with an S1 pod, which behaved normally. This one is the one, which was sold as an S2, but behaves exactly the same as the S1. The two together. I've just been out and tried one, then the other and there is NO difference at all. The Hi/Lo remains the same and the demist still puts both top LEDs on. Looks like they're both S1 tbh. :( If someone does have a pic of a genuine S2, it would be interesting to see the numbers on its label. Cheers.
  23. Hmm, my original S1 has a green label and the supposed S2 has a yellow label. Now I'm really confused LOL!
