Am moving house & (temporarily at least) my cars wont be garaged, Informed insurance co. (who want additional premium!)- quelle surprise, rodders, as delboy would say. Has anyone fixed one of those security bollards in their drive, how effective/ cost? etc etc-

My son left his car on an incline with handbrake on (not in gear, however) and after approx 30 mins the car rolled 20 yards or so into a tree ( proper tree, not a sapling). Front of car is a mess - one headlight, one wing, bonnet, entire front of car & the cross member behind front bumper is pushed in in the shape of the tree. the car runs, no fluids lost & doors open & close without difficulty. Car is 53 reg 1.4 megane value 3 to 31/2 k? Repairs likely to me min of 2K I guess -could be higher. a friend of his apparently put in aclaim for a similar occurence (obviously another plonker) and his claim was rejected as the handbrake cable hadn't snapped!! Presumably his insurers summised he had simply been careless & not applied the handbrake. Has anyone any advice on this please?

If your installing CCTV make sure that thr lens is of good quality as no point not being able to properly identify the miscreant!!
