  1. Its just a rough calculation mate, Never going to be spot on :( I might come to the surrey rolling road day and see what reading they get.
  2. I duno mate, think the compression ratio!!? ive got a thicker head gasket so lowers the compression so i can run more boost. Hopefully someone will be along to help. I want a good overview of how its running. The man said it was running very rich on the nearside bank, But running well. I tried my best to set the ebc before i arrived to keep it steady and to keep the boost stable throughout the revs with no spike. Im happy its a strong build so far and that the power peaks higher up the revs with a nice even curve all the way up which is what i wanted. Im sure it would benefit from a good days mapping BUT i think il wait till i have fitted the bigger turbos, would be a waste of money.
  3. I know it wasnt going to be great seen as the car is running rich even more so on the nearside bank which was 9.8afr or so :(, and not to forget its a hot day today ;) But overall im happy i have a figure to compare for when i fit the BIG BLOWERS and have it mapped yeehaaaaaaa Im thinking gt535r's or the gt600r's ???? does anyone know the difference between the 2? I know they are ball bearing 5 bolt turbos and thats about it. Was at a place called Red Dot racing in enfield. Handy as its only 15mins drive for me. They own a serious mr2 turbo track car and a skyline was on the rr before me. Video:
  4. knowing myself I would end up going through the gel and making a hole :D
  5. I just thought it would make life easier to start off with a nice wet and dry, to rid of everything and basicaly start again. But im a chef so what do i know lol.
  6. Just seen the kit, its a complete engine gasket set including a metal HG set, comes with all the other little gaskets here and there also. Is that would your after the cometic type or do you just want the normal gaskets? And do you realy need all the other bits? You might wanna just purchase the head gaskets on thier own?
  7. Just weld the fooker together :D job done, But expect some wheel bounce round corners and some funny noises and more tyre wear.
  8. Yeah i think they do but they are non adjustable.
  9. Its not like traction control lol, LSD Will limit the slip when cornering so that both rear wheels are turning at the same speed well at least more than they would with a normal diff, You can also adjust the clutches on an lsd for more or less slip, end results are reducing rear end twitchyness and oversteer throttling out of corners. Traction control will cut the throttle if it senses one wheel is turning faster that the other or if the drive wheels are turning faster that the front wheels or the actual speed of the car. soemthing along those lines. Anyway an uprated lsd will probably be more expensive, either fitting a lsd clutch internal to the diff or buying complete one.
  10. Wouldnt you have to 1200-1500 wet and dry the lot first to get a nice flat surface? then a cutting compound, then polish compound?
  11. Exactly. Only if i know the road well will i guive it some, its just too risky. :(
  12. Will actually improve cornering with negative front camber BUT reduce braking grip :(
  13. You have them now so why not use them? They are far better than crappy rubber stock wobbly bushings yuck. You will also always have the piece of mind to be able to change the stance if you pleaee AND stock non adjustable camber arms will never be perfectly setup, for instance if one of your springs is slightly weaker than the other or a roll bar is slightly twisted or chassis ;) or even the camber bushings themselves.
  14. Yes BUT i have had it plumbed there in the past and it didnt read correctly, it would give out a low reading when on throttle due to the oil passing past too quickly, when in the sump it is always submerged in oil giving a nice constant reading. Anyway the sensor doesnt hang lower than the sump it sticks out diagonaly just above the lowest point of the sump, it was only luck that it hit the sensor off and missed the sump by a cm, the road lump flew passed the right side of the sump... any closer and it would have been a disaster.... SO it doesnt matter where it is positioned. the chances of it happening again are very slim.
  15. ooo i might not even go through with it. Il prob get over it like i always do with things like this.
  16. Ok thanks mate, big help, il get round to it.:bow:
  17. Cool good work, so what was involved? should i send a letter to the council? threaten to sue?
  18. Ah how much did you get? Curious!!!! Il prob claim for new oil, new sump adapter and sensor plug, old plug removal and labour cost. Fair? also the two hours pay at work i missed out on, Being towed home too.
  19. Its not baked on yet... I reall y cant be bothered to clean them.... Raise it!! are u mad. Na it will be fine. I will sooner or later fit a speciality sump and make a gaurd for it. one day.
  20. Hi matt, lots of traffic on that road next to the junction so everytime the lights went red i jumped in the road and snapped as much as i could, A porsche was just about to drive over the lump ans i shouted STOP and he moved alittle to the left. Ive also got loads of black oil on my shiny new decats now :(
  21. Great news for me :D got under the car and tapped a star shape tool inside the thread and it came straight out, ive put in a new plug and its tightened up perfectly, Was due an oil change anyhow lol :D ive also bought a new temp sensor and adapter and will fit them once its all arrived. It must have just clipped the lump and luckily i was slightly more right or it would have gone straight through the sump no problem. Here are some pics. Do you think i should claim for something? adapter and sensor smashed up. you can see the thread stuck inside the hole. heres the dodgy tarmac sticking out. Road works are currently underway. very hard to see the lump, this pic was taken horizontaly on the floor and you can see how much height the lump has. It slopes up very sharply and has a nice peak. This poor bloke happened to be walking over it as i took the shot flooky hey, Lucky he didnt trip up. heres the road works. and some zed blood:
  22. Could have been worse as it just skimmed the sump, the thread on the sump plug adapter is stuck in there which means the sump thread will be fine :) juts ordered a new sump adapter and sensor again grrrrrrrrr. Will post up pics soon. really close one... Im going to post up some pics of the damage and the massive lump in the road which has obviously taken out quite a few cars, you can see the grounding marks. The council will be hearing from me very soon.
  23. Heres a couple pics to help you see whats been moved around etc. And this ones for you pete a little close up not the best of pics but its the only one i managed with the time i had.
