  1. Damn keep the system and intimidate all the boys in their 1.6 saxos. haha Noise can be all of those things cats reduce noise, bigger bore will increase noise, and the silencers are the big canister looking things on the end of your exhaust system they filter all the noise, some systems have silencers in the middle also, less of these and you get more noise. the size of the pipes doesnt really make the noise as they are just for show its the bore behind the pipe. If you want to keep the ends so it looks good then just sell the middle section and find a used original middle section or new one. cant guarantee it will be quiter coz i havent seen what ya got. You could go to your local kwik fit/tyre exhaust fitter garage and ask them whats going on underneath if you have a cat bypass etc and how to make it quiter then you can start from there. they can sometimes be helpful especially if your a girlie. I have no luck with that side of things sometimes have to bring along the missus and pretend its hers haha.
  2. Can never be too loud for me :D Depends on the set up... how many silencers does that powerflow system have? is it fulll system or from cat backwards? are the cats still there or bypassed? upgraded manifolds/downpipes. You could just buy the original middle section as yours prob has no silencers except for the rears, keep the powerflow ends which prob look far better than the original ones anyway. This would keep noise down. but then again im not sure what your setup is at the mo. depneds how quiet you wanna be.
  3. i still do if ya want it, its just sitting in my toolbox mingling with the spanners & sockets. im in north london tho ;) 07915 608451 james
  4. oh didnt know that bit, why is that then? car is running very cool at mo have not even had the rad fan kick in yet, maybe just coz its winter. but il take your advice into consideration thanks :)
  5. I hope no one is getting annoyed with the amount of new threads im creating will subsribe soon promise. Ok 1. Full exhaust is fitted + cat bypass, its a 1991 so i dont think it had cats at that age. 2. induction kit fitted 3.been chipped for increased fuel/ air for safe increase boost. now i looked at the tuning tips section in this forum and saw the cheapest way to increase boost which was the boost jet method, i thought this was perfect for me as im a lazy bugger. i have done exactly what it said and put mig welder tips with a 1m hole in the correct pipes. when i first turn on the car let it warm up etc i get a nice increase in boost say 1 bar or bit less. but after a couple burns on the throttle it goes back to normal boost, if i turn ignition off and on while rolling or stopped at lights i get 1bar again for a while then back to normal boost. is the ecu limiting the boost? although its no where near safety boost..... anyone know what it could be?
  6. yeah them wheels are shite..... il look for some better ones with good tyres anyone selling any???
  7. yeah il do that 2mow morn.... haha i got a new driveshaft carrier bearing to fit that the previous owner bought and i just found it in the boot not fitted yet haha result.... looks new anyway....
  8. cool thanks for the help guys, think il go for the front mount after crimbo, what differences did you notice with the front mount???? it makes the car run safer too, no? cooler air less combustion temp? im not an expert....
  9. Yeah thats not so bad a drive :) could you give me a website or address??
  10. Have been looking at buying an upgraded intercooler seen a few on ebay, firstly i saw this one which requires a lot of front assembly > http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=220178889795&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=012 Secondy i saw these side mounted ones which look like a lot less work and less expensive too. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/IUpgraded-AL-Side-Mount-Intercooler-Nissan-90-96-300ZX_W0QQitemZ180193994667QQihZ008QQcategoryZ43808QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD2VQQcmdZViewItem What would you recommend???

  12. looks like it wont fit under the hood, would be cool for the top of the engine to be sticking out of the hood like a muscle car.
  13. well you never know..... anyways its fitted now and looks fresh ;) matching leather with 300zx turbo stiching cool hehe
  14. ahhh now we getting somewhere i didnt wana take that carpet bit out without being sure there were screws there ok cool will give it a go :)
  15. im not talking about the gear gaitor im talking bout the hand brake gaitor, i unscrewed all them screws and took out the radio ash tray etc still feels like something is holding it down..... the middle arm rest needs to come out coz its attached to the handbrake surrounding.
  16. Please tell me i dont need to get under the car to change a simple handbrake leather gaitor? i tried to take it apart today and no luck seems like its bolted from underneath.... ???

  21. They will bend in place no problem, just be careful, you dont wanna be driving at 150mph with a brake failure no sir'ee The Mot testers name wasnt fussy harry by any chance?
  22. i have a spare temp sensor you can just have if ya like, i was getting idle probs so i changed it but turned out to be leaky clutch booster vacume..... lemme know.
  23. yeah was getting 3bar pressure throught the vents made me feel like i was going faster...... haha na not really.... but i thought the aircon ecu was the car ecu as it looks the same as my fiat coupe ecu so i removed a chip from it and put a performance one in it haha and it fit,, but aircon stopped working then i realised what i did so i relaced it and installed the chip to the proper ecu thank god it worked i was so scared and felt so stupid,, thats the dumbest thing ive ever done to a car haha, too ages to solder was doing it since 8 in the morn till about 3pm geeze
  24. not sure if the radious will remain the same. as the originals are 16inch going up 2 inchs with another... say inch for tyres would increase radius but im too lazy to do the math
