I took off my battery today and had a look behind the engine, this is what i saw. note the red circle is an oil trail Then i saw this. Pipe is split so i changed it with a fresh one and inserted the spacer from the old. This is where it came from. I thought i got lucky and maybe this was where the smoke was coming from but sure enough i went for a test drive and its still smoking around that area. The rocker cover gasket doesnt seem too oily but then again i cannot really get a good look at the other side of the cover. any ideas people? as i want to book it in to have the oil leak fixed but i want to be sure where its coming from first....

Im thinking it is too thin... for nissan to specify 10/40 it must be. my oil is like water. ZZZZzzzzzz im so tired im off to bed........

think il go fro a 10/40 next time.

is this oil too thin you think? and how can you tell if sparks are on their way out?

haha ok diagnosis program got ya. I just gave this timing melarky one more go myself. First of all i disabled my manual boost controller and fitted 1.0m mig tips instead, (this way i know im hitting around the 1bar mark) reconnected the solenoids and retarded the CAS a touch then went for a spin. it held its boost for a couple mins then reverted to safety. i pulled over let the tubs cool then retarded the ignition a bit more took for another spin and it held for alot longer but safety boost again, at this stage i was sure i was doing something right. so i retarded it once more and comprenday it stuck the whole way home at a good 14psi with no detting no funny noise no safety boost. so till i get the CAS timing adjusted properly this will do fine. oh and guess what i saw a zed parked up as i pulled off the A10 to open the bonnet it was on a parallel road to the A10 enfield areas, cant remember what road but the car was silver with round rear lights, crome wheels cant really discribe them but they didnt have spokes more like a big dish kinda wheel anyway it was sexy. Whos is it?????

ah so its just a matter of warming the car up to temp before adjusting timing or it will read a different timing when it does heat up. am i following?
