Right ive had a long think of what i need to rebuild my engine. Im about to order from zedworld in ths US: Engine rebuild kit. $1.275: -Wiseco forged pistons with new rings -Complete Nissan Engine Gasket Kit -New Nissan Oil Pump -New Nissan Water Pump -New Nissan Timing Belt -New Nissan Rod and Main Bearings (you are responsible for providing grades) -12 New Nissan Freeze Plugs -12 New Nissan Connecting Rod Bolts 1 engine mount $99.00 2 pcv hoses that i need $30 2 1/2 moon rear valve seals $6 postage $162 works out to almost £800 I was going to purchase valve stem seals and rear main seal but they are included in the gasket set as ive just come off the phone to them, they said they will throw in the half moons wow great deal thats like £3 :mac1: im guna call them and see what else they can gimme. Do you think theres anything im missing?

Sounds superb.... since doing all my suspension/bushes shocks springs upper arms and fitting my wheels etc im scared to even drive it just incase i hit a kerb or something, im gunna be 10 times as scared when the engine and body work is all done.....

£2000 you serious? is that including labour and removing engine? or Did you remove engine yourself?

How much does a rebore cost?

Am i not correct in saying the cylinders have to be rebored when fitting new pistons anyway? I thought that was a normal procedure when fiiting new rings and pistons. Surely the block wears as well as the rings etc, a rebore is done so that the new rings can wear together with the newly cut cyclinders? am i wrong?

so should i go for the 87 or the 88? i cant decide? so as long as my head is in good shape 88 will be fine?

Depends on the rider, But in the rain the bike would have no chance.

Ok so i can either go for 87.5 or the 88 think il go slighty bigger with the 88, but does that mean il be paying extra for the rebore? Another thing, now that your using a 89mm piston, what does your engine capacity stand at? i know standard is around 2960 i think. Do you know?

Would there be alot of difference between the 87.5 and a 89mm? How much power gain will i feel, seen as im running real low compression at the mo? You got any figures from stock to forged?

But whats the advantages of a cometic gasket? does it just withstand heat better? At what kinda power are they needed? Ive read that they are prone to failure.

I wont balls it. il rebuild them then get them balanced. Im quite good with precision. I think il do a good job :) silverbullet has done 4 so far :) Hes given me some tips already.

Oh and any recommendations on head gaskets? Should i stick to the one supplied with the z1 kit, or go for a metal one?

damn it, silverbullet gave me part numbers on the auto tubs so now i have to look for the correct parts again.

What do you mean by upgrade kit? whats different? i have messaged silverbullet and he has done quite a few tub rebuilds and has given me part numbers for the rebuild kits including the piston rings. Would this kit be different to the one your talking about? One more thing, are the auto and manual tubs the same, im assuming they are but i just wanna double check. oh and thanks legrath for the info and thanks mowerman :D
