  1. Well I've stuck my Z on eBay now. Had a good fun 12 years with it though.
  2. Yep! Was so satisfying sawing and smashing it with a hammer! Disposed of it up the local dump this afternoon so it had a good send off! Back to standard so no more speedhump woes. Thanks again Si for showing me the way!
  3. That's great news, glad it's sorted. It's always nice that people follow up there issues on here to help others that experience the same problems. This club has helped me diagnose so many issues over the past 10 years... If you've got a problem with your Z then you can bet that someone on here has had it before!
  4. OK so gonna change the Spark plugs in my Z as they have not been changed in over 11 years! They have done well considering my Z has been and still is a daily drive all that time. I'm thinking I would like some NGK PFR6B-11B's but where can you get them in this country or is it an order job from Z1 in America. The only reason for this is I'm running 1.2Bar of boost on uprated Turbo's and understand the 11B's are a little longer than the NGK 11C's or any other plug. The Z Centre offer NGK Iridium's but are these better, offer any benefit or should I just stick with PFR6B-11B's as they we're specially designed for our engines... What Plugs is everyone running with uprated boost on here and what do you recommend please?
  5. Brilliant advice as always Jeff, thank you so much. I am due for a cambelt change early next year so guess mine could be stretched. Will get a timing light on it and check at the weekend. Also think I'm gonna replace my MAF as the sudden anchor been thrown out the back you described is exactly what I get sometimes. Its bloody Scarry when you get a gob load of power at 1.2 bar all the way to 4 or 5k then sudden power loss! Feels a boost pipe has suddenly popped off. Once I've sorted the problem I.e replaced the defective part(s) i'll post back here with the fix in case anyone else gets this. Thanks again
  6. No not yet so gonna get it on the ConZult at the weekend. Weird thing on the drive home from work tonight it was fine again. Full boost all the way to 7200rpm. Bet it won't do that tomorrow tho!
  7. Yeah must admit in 12 Years of Z ownership i have never touched the CAS or taken it off so can't see how it can be out. Also use my Z as a daily drive!!
  8. Yeah guess i might be that. It only used to do it occasionally in the summer and then it would be ok again. Started to do it more often than not now!
  9. I have a boost leak tester that plugs into where the airfilter goes and presurised the system. Also have special smoke matches. Yes HKS 2530 turbo's kicking in all right! But as i keep saying it does this off boost as well!
  10. Thanks for your reply but put new oil in recently, the same brand as I've been using for the past 12 years! No issues there!
  11. Yeah no boost leaks, checked that and like I've said it'll do it just on gental acceleration at 5000rpm running no positive boost what so ever. Very weird!
  12. Hi all. I've started having the very weird problem in the past few weeks. My Z suddenly won't rev past 5000RPM either on heavy boost with my foot planted or gently creeping up there on light throttle. On heavy boost (foot to the floor) sometimes i'll just get a sudden cut out at 5000RPM. Other times it just get to 5000RPM and sound's like it's hit a limiter and you get the BRRRRRRRRRRR noise! I've done the usual and cleanned all the connectors, PTU, MAS connector ETC with electrical contact cleaner. They we're clean anyway to be honest with no Green corrosion on them. It idles smooth, boosts strong with no hesitation up to 5000RPM. Any idea's what it could be please? Thinking possibly the MAF could be on it's way out possibly or maybe new spark plugs? Don't wanna go spending out on Plugs and stuff only to find it's the MAF that needed replacing! Hope someone else has had this problem at High RPM and managed to fix it, Please HELP!
  13. Well mine has started doing this now. Boost boost boost and loads of power all the way up until 5k RPM then suddenly nothing like its cut out all together! Doesn't do it all the time but a pain when it does! Would like to know how to resolve this...To be it feels like the spark for the plugs as blown out... Don't really wanna go to the expense of changing the PTU, PLUGS, CAS all at the same time. Would be nice to narrow it down to just that one thing so i can buy just that one thing!
  14. I know I put in £35 a week and do roughly about 140miles on that to and from work with some left over for the weekends. This includes some spirited driving on dual carrage ways. Running 1.2Bar boost on HKS 2530's so not bad MPG as a daily drive! Think this also helps using it as a daily drive over the years as things don't tend to clog up as quick like O2 sensors or electrical connectors etc. Even still on my First PTU after 12 years of ownership on a 22 Year old car!
  15. Cheers Gary! Thanks very much! And today I will be doing a bit of Birthday work on my Z!
  16. Forgot to mention that I ditched my Aircon and all it's gubbins!
  17. Yep! My Z is full of skirts, vents, wings etc all made by Dave! Nothing else will do!
  18. That's good to know Dave! Gonna be my next carmad purchase soon!
  19. Thanks Ollie and wish I saw this earlier! Just ordered and paid for one at the local Nissan garage. Its gotta come from Amsterdam and it £17! Oh well you live and learn!
  20. Thanks z32bolt! Your an absolute star! Just been out to the garage to have another look and checked under the Z and sure enough there is a tiny puddle of water on the floor directly below that hose! Thanks again for all your help!
  21. Thanks for the info Z32bolt! I always thought the water coolant hose was the one next to it and just in front on the bottom picture with the rubber hose going into the metal pipe!
  22. Hi everyone. I have what I believe is a split Turbo Oil Hose on the Drivers side. It's the one next to the water pipe. I have uploaded some pictures in the hope that someone can confirm what this hose actually is tho i.e.Turbo Oil Feed Hose, Oil Return feed hose... When the engine is switch off after a drive you can see little puffs of oily smoke coming from the bottom of this hose onto the hot turbo. Also if someone would be kind enough to tell me if I can get a replacement in Silicone, braded or even original that would be great! Don't know if Mike at MJP would do these... Thanks in advance people...
  23. It was a custom one I made myself using a JANSPEED back box and the original mongoose pipe work to the back box. Originally I just chopped off the the old mongoose back box and fitted my own. Glad I kept the mongoose in a way because it's quieter and keeps the authority's happy!
  24. This is what I used to have about 3 years ago... Till the Police did a clamp down in our area of cars with modified exhausts. They took a dim view and got an on the spot fine of £80 so had to change back to my Mongoose... Miss the noise of these exhausts but it was over 120db at 4000RPM... Still have them so maybe thinking of getting one of those electronic noise muffler things and fitting them back on.
