  1. Sounds good, I did the Ferrari 360 driving at Donington and it was rubbish. It was raining and they turned the power down so people were'nt sliding off all day. It felt very lacklustre compared to my zed.
  2. I'm in the process of changing mines cambelt & water pump etc. Its my first time doing it, I have got the rad out and just loosening the aux belts before getting to the cam belt & water pump. I am using the guide on http://www.ttzd.com and you do not need to take the front bumper off.
  3. My first big bike was a CBR600 which I thought was quick, but the difference between that and my GSXR750 is quite noticable. I think a 600 would be a good bike to start on and get used to riding before going for the bigger powered bikes. My GSXR as been a good bike, reliable, very quick and insurance is only costing £180 this year! I am starting to think about selling it though, the Zed seems to be emptying my bank quite quicky at the moment.
  4. Keep the Zed, but if I had to choose one from your original list I would go for the Mustang.
  5. I was thinking of selling my bike, starting to think about safety more now I'm getting older, but I'm going to have to wait until the Zeds fixed first. I have been using the girlfriends car for the last month with the bad weather, its just a pain having to taxi her around all the time so that I get to keep her car.
  6. I'll keep a look out for you in Leicester, which part are you from? I've only seen two Zeds in the last 5 months in Leicester.
  7. That looks seriously quick.
  8. Yes, it is a UK spec. How much would would a hatch cost normally?
  9. I managed to get the stikaflex off ok, but I'm not sure about the rust. I can't decied about repairing the old hatch or trying to get another one. I have got a new fibreglass spoiler so I might repair my current hatch as when the new spoiler is fitted most of the rusted area will be covered over. I just want to clean it up as best as possible so the rust does not continue under the new spoiler.
  10. Hopefully these pictures will upload, I have just taken my rear spoiler off, this is what mine was like, I hope yours is in better condition!
  11. I don't like the front bumper.
  12. I don't know if paint for motorbikes is different or not?? but I quite like the metallic orange that Kawasaki has used on some of their recent bikes, I think its called pearl wildfire orange. If it could be used for a car then should be a bit cheaper than a lambo paint. I'm not sure how to add a pic, but if you go to the Kawasaki website you can see the colour on the Z750 bike.
  13. 10:30am today saw a jap spec black TT, reg: J***XEP parked in the parade, Oadby, Leicester.
  14. I have had a look at the car today and the pipe I could see leaking was an overflow for the expansion bottle. I had been filling it by the expansion bottle, I have checked other threads and it appeared that I should check the coolant level by removing the rad cap and if you could see coolant then it was ok. I could not see any coolant in mine, so I topped it up until I could see some and then checked for leaks again, this time it has a slower drip, it appears to be dripping below the cam belt area, so I guess this is going to be the water pump leaking??
  15. I have been looking on other threads and from the area it looks like it might be leaking it could be the turbo water hose, just looked on Z1's site I think it is part 14056-40P14. What is the main problem fitting a new hose? Can it be done with the engine still in? I am not going to be able to do any work on it till Thursday so just trying to get some ideas.
  16. I was driving home from work yesterday and noticed the temp gauge going up just as I was getting home. I have checked the coolant level today with the engine cold and it was empty, so I filled it up and then heard it coming straight out. It was emptying straight out, a constant flow onto the drive, I have not had chance to get under it and have a proper look yet, but from looking above the engine near the dip stick I could see it leaking from a pipe near the bottom of the engine. Has anyone got any idea which pipe it might be, or is there something else in that area which might be leaking?
  17. Saw a blue Zed, L***PTO at about 3:00pm today travelling along Gypsy Lane towards Victoria Road East. First Zed I have seen in Leicester since I bought mine in October.
  18. I don't know what sort of stereo you have, but I have got a Blaupunkt Autofun DAB Aerial in mine, it sticks to the inside of the windscreen. I got mine free with my head unit, but I think they are about £60. Its small and tucks up in the top corner of the windscreen so you can't see it. Reception has been good, I did have some problems when the old analoge aerial was still attached, but no I have removed that its fine, just got to smooth over the old aerials position now.
  19. The girlfriend woke me up asking what it was, I told her something must have fallen over downstairs and went back to sleep. She was pleased with herself in the morning when she heard it was an earth quake on the radio.
  20. How much fabric is normally required? I was going to order some for mine, is 5 metres enough?
  21. Mine did the same, I changed the ECU temp sensor and it seems to have cured it. Think it only cost about £10.
  22. I was 31 last week and got my first Z about 3 months ago.
  23. Have you got the new wireing harness aswell, I fitted mine today and the new harness just plugs straight into the old connectors, it only took about 15 mins to finish.
  24. Mine has a vibration above 40mph, I was thinking of starting with a new gearbox mount, I take it if its above the propshaft then I am going to have to remove the propshaft as well? Sounds like a big job.
