Tyres
If you want some really nice alloys then IMHO you can't beat the Asev A's or AS's. They really suit the Z. Then again I do have the asev AS's so I would that ;)

Air Flow converters .. WTF are they all about?
OK .. someone explain to me what they are all about. I have one fitted to my car. It was there when I bought it. Am I right to say that it fools the ECU into providing more fuel to the injectors? If it does, what good is it when you have standard injectors? I haven't checked what injectors I have at the moment but I would like to know the benefits using standard injectors. Surely they max out at a standard rate anyway. I am rather confused on the use of the AFC and would like to know more... Also, if you do have an AFC I presume it is a good idea to have a gauge to indicate if you are running too rich or lean. Can someone give me the lowdown on AFC's ... Cheers .. confused .... Chris

Has anyone got a AFM?
Cheers Andy ... I found the problem. was messing about behind the center console at the weekend relocating my boost controller and fitting my Navan gearstick knob and must of losened the connection on the AFC. Pushed it in real tight and all is now running fine. All good fun.... cheers, Chris

Has anyone got a AFM?
Arggh ... cleaned the connectors and still no joy. The only other thing I can think off is a lose connection on my AFC. booger

Head Gasket Faliure!! Please HELP!!!
Also if you get a metal head gasket I think you will find that you have to tweak up the head bolts every so often which would be a PITA.

Head Gasket Faliure!! Please HELP!!!
Sorry to hear about your trouble mate. I am sure the standard headgaskets are good enough for 14 PSI. Well that is what I am running so they had better be ...

Has anyone got a AFM?
Hi all, Looks like it is my turn for trouble. My Zed won't rev pass 2500 rpm so I may need a AFM. If anyone has one can you let me know. I am going to clean the connections tonight to see if that helps. Cheers Chris

Warming up
Not to Hijack this thread but does anyone know if there are certain alarms that a turbo timer won't work with? .. I have a alarm and a seperate immobiliser fitted.

Blown fuse (help needed)
Nice 1 Stu. I will replace the fuse tonight and check to see if it happens if the car is stationary and in gear. Actually come to think of it the fuse blew when the car started to move putting it back in the garage so does this idea still hold up? When the fuse blew, all I had was full beam, no side lights and no rear lights at all and also the fog light switch didn't work. Bit of a downer when you are in fog on the M40  I have standard rear lights as well

Warming up
Damn .. beat me to it James. Good point about letting the turbos spin down though. I always leaveher idling for a couple of mins if I have just been booting it, otherwise I chill my driving down and drive without boosting for a few mins. If it is hot I also open the bonnet to aid cooling.

Warming up
I wait until the engine gets up it's normal operating temperature and check all other guages. I check the oil pressure is ok and oil temp (aftermarket gauges) If all is well, then off we go.

Things I've noticed in 2 days of ownership
I am in a tiny place called Crowborough (which incidently has another Zed) Apparently the guy saw mine and had to get one, my neighbours brother in law apparently. I live about 30 mins from Brighton and Crowborough is about 10 miles from Tunbridge Wells. Chris

Things I've noticed in 2 days of ownership
Well, All I can say is that mine pulls well. I often find that if I am on a clear stretch and go to overtake one car I end up overtaking 4 or five ;) Damn I need to go out for a drive tonight now :hyper:

Blown fuse (help needed)
Thanks for the reply Stu. It blows when in gear and moving but is fine out of gear whilst stood still. I am crap with electrics so bare with me here. When the 'electrical auto engineer' put the switch in would it need an earth? I am just thinking that he may have mistaken the lights circuit as an earth as the wires look like earth wires. I read that whilst doing a search but really haven't got electrical savvy at all. Anyone?

Blown fuse (help needed)
I recently had the rear brake light conversion done to my car, through a relay etc to the switch. I didn't do the work as I am not v good with electrical stuff. Anyways, When I flick the switch (whilst driving) it blows my light fuse in the drivers footwell, but it doesn't blow when the engine is running and the car is stationary. Can anyone offer me any ideas as to why this may be happening? cheers

Tyre Weld - advice please!
cheers Gio ... nice 1. Looks like my spacesaver is on its way out then.

Tyre Weld - advice please!
I would be interested in this as I was thinking of getting some. Does anyone here use it for their Zed? If so, how many cans do you need depending on the tyresizes? Also what are the consequences of using this product when you go to have your tyres repaired after using it?

Damn, I wish that was true where I live. People wan't to race me whenever I take the beast out. They soon see how pointless it is though ;) It does get to be a bit of a PITA after a while. It is great when you floor it and leave them standing though. The kids where I live love the car and even come to meet it as they hear it coming down the road. They say .. 'Great car mate, I wan't one of them one day' 'how fast can it go?' 'Are those 5" tailpipes?' Great fun and probably the best car I have owned to date.
