  1. Any ideas what could be wrong now?? My car has just had a new clutch fitted, a standard Nissan one, now when im driving at about sixty miles an hour in fith I get a strange vibration, you can drive through it which made me think it was the wheels need balancing. But!!! If I put it in fourth and do the same speed, nothing?!? Smooth as a newly shaved babies arse, which believe me is pretty bloody smooth. Has anyone come across this before, could it be anything to do with the new clutch? Advise always greatly received.

  3. Using these what should the boost increase be???
  4. On the reliability side of thigs I haven't had a days trouble with mine, weeks - yes, months - yes, but never just a days trouble. I hope you buy better than I did. It's getting there, slowly!!!
  5. Did someone say it was cheap to change the clutch!!! Cheap compared to what, just had mine done and the cheapest I found was £400 all in. I had an escort and that cost £120 all in, now that's cheap.. And on the related subject it has to be manual, never seen an auto Ferrari, Lambourghini, Paganni Zonda!!!
  6. Off topic, where did you get that signature woman thing from??? I want one, two preferrably!!!!

My cars going to Zedworld for a new clutch on the 6th. So long as it's done, which it should be, ill be there. It'll be the first meet ive been to but as I live in Reading I don't really have an excuse not to go. Hopefully see you all there.
  8. Could be wrong but I think the clutch is hydraulic so no cable. My release bearing has gone and now grinds when I lift my foot off the clutch so it's off to Zedworld for a new clutch, £380. Good luck.
  9. Cheers, I think i'll have a word with the company who chipped it as they assured me although it was above average it would be fine. I'll get them to look at my clutch at the same time.

They all love the zed. But you must have some very small mates to fit two in the back seat and one in the front passenger seat. I tried giving a friend a lift in the back and the only way they would fit was llying down!! Ok, that's what I told her, anyway!!!
  11. Ok, now I am worried. Also my car is making a strange noise. Since having it chipped I have noticed that sometimes when I change from third to fourth as I lift the clutch pedal it makes a strange grinding noise for a split second. Also today as I was parking and manouvering the car in first gear it made a grinding or scraping noise again??? As a driver I don't drive everywhere fast, in fact I only ever use the speed for overtaking. My normal journeys are to and from work at two thousand revs doing sixty miles an hour. The only time I would use the power is in short bursts for overtaking, if I only use it like this would it be ok??? In your opinion??
  12. Im getting worried. I've had my car chipped, tt manual and on the aftermarket boost gauge that is fitted it's reading 1.3 bar, or as the guy who chipped it said about 17psi. I believe that my car had had a lot of stuff done to it when it was in Japan, boost upgrade and traction control, but for some reason it had all been taken off when it was imported. Am I running the risk of blowing my engine. It is bl**dy fast and will spin the rear wheels pretty much no matter what as soon as it hit's the 1.3 mark. ???
  13. Speaking of starter motors, mine on occassion makes a screaching noise when I try to turn it over, then when I try it again it's fine. Is mine on the way out as well?? It only does it about one in every fifteen starts.
  14. Hello again, well the car is almost running nicely. It's been to SE Nissan and Options Motorsport, can't honestly say im impressed with either so am looking for another place to take my car. Keep trying Zedworld but no answer on his phone. Anyway, the thing that is really doing my head in is the rattles!!! Do all Zed's have annoying squeaks and rattles or just mine. I have lowered suspension which is pretty damn hard and the main amount of rattles come from the door cards and rear trim. Is there a company that will fix this or do I just have to turn the stereo up really loud???
  15. Mine doesn't do that, loads of other things wrong with it though if it makes you feel better!!!
  16. Same thing happened to me. Rad sprung a leak, a local company recored it then found out the end tank was knackered. Managed to fabricate a new one and looks as good as new. £160 later and its fitted and no noticeable difference from what it was before, other than it doesn't leak anymore. The company was Berkshire Radiators, if you want the number I can dig it out for you.
  17. Aha, the car has been fitted with an after market wheel and yes, it is steering a bit to the left when your in a straight line. Sounds promising, cheers.:)
  18. Thanks a lot for all your ideas. I shall let you know what Se Nissan say. Either way when ut's sorted ill be a happy bunny again!!!
  19. Things were going well but but something else has cropped up now. When I drive the car for about ten miles or more the Hicas warning light comes on and stays on!!!! Is this going to be pricey to fix?? Also, mainly when cold but sometimes when hot, if you stay at a constant speed then it's as if the car hiccups or coughs. Almost like a hesitation. It's fine when your accelerating, the problem only occurs at a constant speed. Also what should the car be idling at, when I got it it was around 600 revs but now its a 1000. The car is booked into SE Nissan beginning of September for my sticky gearshift and the rest of this stuff. The question is do I need to rob a bank beforehand to pay for whats wrong??? Any advice would be great. Cheers everyone.
  20. A good idea I had not thought of, now wheres my pipe????
  21. Sounds good to me, how do I send you pictures??
  22. Hi all, just thought id let you know how my car is going. I posted a question a couple of weeks ago about a sticky gear shift ona zx tt manual I had just bought, also my radiator had sprung a leak and I was getting disheartened. Well the radiator is fixed, my sticky gearshift doesn't affect me as much now due to bigger biceps from using it and the car is running well. Also I didn't realise that my single exit exhaust had whats called a baffle fixed in it, a friend knew a bit more than me and as soon as he saw the large exhaust with a small outlet he quickly grabbed a spanner and pulled out a baffle about a foot and a half long from my exhaust. I thought it was loud before but my car now rivals concorde in the volume stakes, also im sure a couple of old dears had heart attaks when I went past, lovely. Lastly I have fitted my stereo, components in the front, with a JVC head unit, 12 disc cd bootloader and a four channel amp powering an infinity 12" sub and a pair of soundstream 6x9"'s on a custom made (by me) acoustic shelf. It all looks good and sounds quite nice to. The sun is shining, the birds are singing and after nearly two months of hassle my car is pucker, only cost £3,655 on top of the car to sort it, which means I can now appreciate it from my front room as I can't afford to fill it with petrol, oh well I get paid in twenty days!!!! Hopefully see you all at a zx meet. Thanks for all your help and advice.
  23. Thanks for all the advice, hope it's not something serious as a suspect water leak has just turned out to be a big water leak and now I need a new radiator as well!!! The bill is now over three grande and rising. Gulp. By the way, did anyone watch Top Gear the other Sunday when Clarkson was talking about the ZX, I use to like hime but now I know he hasn't got a clue what hes talking about. Pictures of my car should be coming soon.
  24. Gulp, er I hope it won't be costing that much to sort out, I shall keep you posted. Cheers.
  25. Im 28, just got it. twin turbo manual targa. Not bad so far.
