Fitting Replacement Dials
Why is 160 no use for a TT?

Fitting Replacement Dials
Mine too read 160mph. However, I think I've buggered it by cutting the dial to try and make it fit. What an idiot!!! Is it worth me trying again d'you think only I've just put it all back together again! Also, my odometer only works intermittenly so I removed it and cleaned with an electric degreaser and wd40 but still doesn't work unless I have driven over 20miles first!!! Any ideas? Looks electrical to me rather than mechanical.

Fitting Replacement Dials
I attempted to fit my new gauges today but could not get them to fit. I managed to fir the small oil pressure and turbo gauges with no probs but I can not for the life of me get the main ones to fit. I can slide them over the needle but once they get to the centre I cannot get the other end of the needle through. I made the mistake of making a small cut to try and fir them over and then realised I've cut through the circuit!!!! SRRAE - How the f**k did you manage to fit yours? Or are the neddles on an early Z32 different to a '92 onwards?

Fitting Replacement Dials
I got them off eBay from the US. Does this mean they won't be accurate. How different are the scales?

Fitting Replacement Dials
I purchased some replacement 'glow' dials for my import so that I could have MPH. They arrived today and I have no idea how to fit them as they did not come with instructions. They have a unit that needs wiring to the electrics so that I can choose between blue/green and a dimmer. All the dials have wires attached to them to get the glow to work but I'm a bit stuck on fitting them. If anyone has successfully done this and can offer any tips/instructions I would be very grateful. Cheers Dom

Need help fitting my new stereo
It is the same fuse that blew but it was actually my rear fog light switch that was causing it. I'd actually wired the stereo up okay!!

Need help fitting my new stereo
Stereo is working fine. Electric arial isn;t but not to bothered about that as I do not use the radio. However, I have no rear lights and when I switch on my main beam the blue light comes on the dash and I get full beam!!! I also do not get any side lights. How could I have done this fitting the radio. Are any of the wires related? I plugged in the earth cable which is screwed into the metal body of the car and does not go through the loom. I need your help!! Dom

Need help fitting my new stereo
Can someone help. I have a 1989 Z32 Jap import and would like to fit a new stereo. I cannot go into Halfords and buy an adapter because it does not have any plugs just wires. Can amyone tell me what colours do what? I've managed to connect the earth and that's all (that was obvious). The wire colours on the head unit are completely different to the cars so I canno match them up and don;t want to blow anything!!! Any advise would be greatly received.

Head Gasket Leak
Well the garage have called me back after having the car for an hour and have confirmed I have a burst hose under the aluminium housing just above the water pump!! Well there you have it. They are going to sort it out and replace any other hoses that need doing. I've spoken to Nissan about it to give them a big f u c k y o u but they are not interested. Said they only found a fault with the water pump and head gasket. Oh, and my garage also said there is nothing wrong with the head gasket, just that burst hose. They also say that the hose looked very old and that Nissan should have picked it up and changed it when replacing the pump. The only advise Nissan can give is to look through my history and see if the water pump was replaced less than a year ago and they will refund the parts and labour under warranty, other than that, they are not willing to discuss the matter any further. Once again, thanks for all your advise guys! Will keep you posted. ;)

Head Gasket Leak
Managed to get my car down the other garage today for a second opinion. Cooland pissing out as I got there. I described the symptoms to him and the first thing he suggested was a hose. He seems to think I would have had problems with it yesterday if it was from the gasket and as I hadn't lost any coolant at all over the past 100miles or any evidence of a leak under the car, seemed to suggest a hose. Fingers crossed!!

Head Gasket Leak
Here we go again!! Same problem. She was fine for the last day or so and now there's a pool of coolant on the floor again!! Opened the bonnet to see steam coming from the front of the block and leaking onto the cambelt. Big puddle on the floor. Looks like I'll have to take it back to Nissan to check the hoses and I will ask them to check the ones under the plenum! She didn't overheat this time though. I wonder if they did replace my water pump after all?

Head Gasket Leak
I think I'm just getting paranoid!!! Check the coolant level in the RAD this morning before I set of and it's fine. Hasn't moved at all!!! Also, I have driver 100miles or so since picking her up yesterday and I made sure I drove her 'properly'. Pissing people off weaving through traffic, driving her hard AND getting stuck in tailbacks, all whilst the temp outside was 31 degrees. I think I can safely say me Head is looking well!! I will be booking a compression test later in the week. Thank you all for your support.

Head Gasket Leak
Drove home from work tonight. Had both windows open as temp 31 outside. Thought I heard a loud whistle from outside. Temp constant and all seemed well. I decided to check check the coolant level and the dip stick was bone try!!! Then moved her to park her up my drive and notice white smoke from the exhausts. Is this it??? Correct level of coolant was put in today and she is not leaking any water from underneath. Opened RAD but couldn;t really see level. Check oil, didn;t look contaminated. I think I will give up. There is no way I can afford to replace the Head Gasket if it goes so I have decided to try and sell her on and let someone else take it on. I also got two new rear tires today!!! Gutted!! Or am I just panicing?    :(

Head Gasket Leak
Well. Picked my car up this morning. Payed £328 for the water pump replacement and coolant etc. I asked them for a copy of the compression test results and they said they didn't have it and I also asked them to show me where the water is leaking from the head. They said it is so small I won't be able to see it and pointed to the front left of the engine and said it was beneath the two large pipes. So I drove it 25 miles to work and everything seems fine. Truned the engine off, no hiss or bubbling noised from the head, no leaks and a constant engine temperature. Everything is looking okay so far. Will be taking it to my local garage today though for another compression test and a second opinion. When I told Nissan I was taking it elsewhere they said "If it was my car, I wouldn;t let any old garage look at it, not without a manual!". I proceeded to take the CD out of my pocket with the electronic manual on it and gave them a big f u c k y o u !!:D :D I said at least I will be going somehwere that won't rip me off and then asked if they did a discount for Club Members!!! :p :p I will let you know how I get on......... P.S. What is the Plenum??

Head Gasket Leak
So I guess your advise would be start saving for a new Head Gasket as it doesn't look as though the small leak will 'go away' but the inevitable will eventually happen..... I will let you know how I get on tomorrow. Please let it be a hose from under the plenum...........I will say my prayers before bed tonight. It has made me feel slightly sick as I have had such bad luck with my last two 200sx's, and wasted so much money on engine repairs. I thought this one would be different because it is a quality car. I can see me selling it after a week of ownership if it is going to start costing me big bucks. I wasn't prepared for this and had to work so hard to convince the wife to get me one...ho hum!

Head Gasket Leak
Um...........good point! That answered my question.....

Head Gasket Leak
That makes sense Andy. It could be the impression that it is the Head. Remind me again why I took it to Nissan? Anyway, I will be getting my usual garage to check it for me tomorrow. He is a very experiance mechanic and has done alot of engine work on V6s and my old 200sx's for me!! He seems to think radweld can be used in the coolant system/head but that there is no guarantee it will fix it. I just want to drive it to the other garage tomorrow morning without worrying if the head will go!! For what reason should I not use it in a Zed particularly??

Head Gasket Leak
There are no signs of contaminants in coolant, oil or white smoke from exhaust. However, as they have just replaced my water pump, they have renewed all the coolant anyway, but when I check before there did not appear to be any coolant there at all, just water!! Does anyone know if the leak can be sealed at all without the need to replace the gasket?
-
Head Gasket Leak
I have told them NO anyway so can pick the car up. I will take it to my 'usual' garage who I trust. Anyway, lets just say there is a leak coming from the head gasket. Is it anything to worry about if it is very small of does it look like I need to replace the gasket? Thanks
-
Head Gasket Leak
They are saying they have done a compression test and had poor reaults and noticed a leak from the head gasket. Is there anything else that can seal it?
-
Head Gasket Leak
Nissan dealer is telling me I have a small leak at one of my head gaskets after replacing my water pump. They have said they will use Rad Weld to seal it. Will this work?
