  1. Mmm.....might squash me jam butties, sorry no have. Jeff
  2. Try restting the closed throttle memory settings, with the engine running or just ignition on, unplug the large one going into the tps at the side wait around 30 seconds and then plug back in...should do the trick. Jeff TT
  3. Have you got an under drive pulley or any kind of alloy pulleys fitted? seen a few problems with these, especially the cheaper E-BAY one`s Jeff
  4. Your kidding, think I am going to put tea in my zed!! anyway she is doing a cambelt swap tomorrow....... You know we should have got Lynda to come and do all of the catering! Oh yes!! Mmm...sorry none of those. Jeff TT
  5. Anyone want parts for tomorrow? only small bits unfortunatly as the have to fit in my zed boot along with my sandwiches!! Jeff TT
  6. Clutch gearbox removal and refit is something that can be done at home but it is one job that is so easy on a 2 post ramp you need to may want to consider getting a garage to do it for you, £200 to £250 as an average cost, drive in drive out all done in around 2.5 hours, see if there are any clutch garages near to you. Jeff TT
  7. Old style R12 system just need the connector convertors fitted, and after leak testing, vacuum drying the full system and fill with drop in gas, average cost £50 to £80 depending where you take it. Here is mine been done 5+ years ago, still ice cold now. Jeff TT
  8. A low water level can cause this as the heater matrix supply is high up the back of the engine and the water temp sensor is high up at the front too, if the water level is ok then the thermostat is the next thing to suspect. If the stat is stuck wide open the engine coolant will be regulated and normal working temp will not be achieved, this can also have the knock on effect of lower boost if the boost solenoids are still connected. Jeff TT
  9. Sounds like one of the discs had not seated correctly on the hub, strip down clean and refit. Jeff TT
  10. Now you know why :whistling: Jeff TT
  11. Check the condition of the filler pipe to the tank there is a cover over it ( if it is still there) this can sometimes cover up corrossion or be the victim itself. Jeff TT
  12. The 300zx.co.uk Club Bulletin Board database has encountered a problem. Anyone else getting this message when trying to access private messages? Jeff TT
  13. Not seen any zeds with this fitted when imported here, defo an Aussy thing, be interested see one. Jeff TT
  14. More info here too. Jeff TT http://www.allpinouts.org/index.php/1990_-_1995_Nissan_300ZX_ECU
  15. Does not seem that bad, looks like overdrive might not be working though? cannnot be certain, some zeds need to be doing more than 60mph before it works some lower, depends on what speedo convertor is fitted, might be worth disconnecting the speedo convertor go back to KPH and see if your happier with it then, but as I said not too bad in the vid. Jeff TT
  16. Speed limit is written into eprom mapping, simple case of upgrading the ecu eprom as almost all aftermarket one`s have unobtainable raised limits such as 300mph etc. Jeff TT
  17. Yes, check the shape of the blue connector and make sure it is flat against the ecu. Jeff
  18. ECU plug not in square. Jeff TT
  19. Yes thats ok for the tps, another check worth doing is the built in diagnostic see if any codes come up, also there is a drop resister that regulates the voltage to the 2nd gear solenoid and when that failes is makes the change harsher, its located up high in the passenger front wheel arch. Jeff TT
  20. TPS settings are vital for the correct autobox gear change, a good test is if 1st to 2nd gear is to long a change but backing off the trottle makes its change up then TSP is the culprit, seen too many boxes written off as bad when simple adjustment is the issue. Jeff TT
  21. Great news, always good to get a happy ending eh? was a pleasure for us to sort out the issue on such a nice example. Jeff TT
  22. You were spot on matey, quite why the wrong injectors had been fitted is a mystery, maybe lack of knowledge? someone had been doing their best to get it running better but it was never going to happen. Jeff TT
  23. Yes your right, why? with the non turbo injectors fitted and already running so badly? The n/a injectors is something we have seen a few times now and is puzzling especially in this case with the full Nissan history. Jeff
  24. 60k miles with FULL Nissan service! Jeff TT
  25. Come on guys "why is it wrong and why is the problem causing the symptoms above" Jeff TT
