I thought speed sensor too.... Common failure - the plastic cap comes loose and pops out. Simple fix is is to coat the cap in epoxy resin and push it back in - long term fix is a new speed sensor. Easy to replace, albeit a bit fiddly, but it can be hard to get access to the cable connector block, whilst the gearbox is in situ!

Hi Phil, Looks like it's just you and me this year! The show opens to the public at 10am, so I've always aimed to get in around 9 to avoid the rush. I didn't bother booking a club stand as I knew there would only be a couple of us, so we'll be in the 1990s car section. I agree with Stephen. Get your Zed to Jimmer for a proper diagnosis - and a fair quote for a good job well done. Jim is the UK's ZXpert and most of us trust no-one else with our cars.

Yesterday I replaced the air filter - then gave the Zed a clean and wipe down with Blazing Banana spray wax, before putting it back in the garage after using it as a daily last week. I always buy a universal K&N cone "dry" filter for about £40 on Ebay. It does a decent job and instead of cleaning it I just throw it away and replace every two years. I must have left the last one on a bit longer though, as it was pretty black and gungy 🫢
