Not because I thought he WAS going to win for a single moment; but because if I had had half my brain removed, decided to buy a pick-up truck and become American - that I'd most likely have voted for Romney myself. And even then not because I think he was the best candidate (he wasn't; they are both rubbish IMO - the Republicans simply didn't chose someone with sufficient credibility to stand against Obama), but because I'd be a republican voter over there...!! If they are supposedly voting for the "leader of the free world" then surely the rest of the "free world" should be entitled to have its say too.....:shifty: Yup - that's dead right for a country with a history that stretches back to...... ooh, a week ago last Tuesday!! If I were American, I'd probably go with Romney, simply because he's the republican candidate. And the republicans are the slightly more right-wing conservative party then the democrats - so, in my eyes, despite not being a really dynamic and charismatic alternative to Obama, I'd give him the chance as he surely could not be any worse!!! It looks a tidy car - bodywork and interior - so it could be worth the punt IMO. A full (proper) auto box rebuild will set you back around £1400 inc VAT from a gearbox specialist; but there are always 2nd hand ones for sale cheaper than that. Hell you can get JeffTT to do a manual conversion all in for around £1600.... Forget mileage on a near 20 year old car without full documented history (as it sure is not likely to be genuine!!) and just buy on condition; if the body is really as sound as the interior, then that's a big thing in its favour. Especially if you can knock the price down further. I'm sure there must be a few ZX owners in or near Manchester who might be willing to meet you for a viewing; if you need some expert assistance!
