  1. The RPS Street clutch is probably the most common clutch on this forum. It's ideal for Zeds with induction, zorst, chip, boost controller and t25 hybrids on stock injectors. If bigger injectors and 5 bolt turbo's, then the MAX series. hth smithy
  2. Neither, the MAX is overboard for you, RPS Sport street organic is the one ;) smithy
  3. Just needs an engine spec to match the looks and she'd be purrrrfect! smithy
  4. Oh go on then, lol The higher the spec doesn't always determine that a catch tank is required, certainly not on the zed. Often crankcase pressure is increased when upping the boost and power, however by how much is the problem. If you look around you'll see there is no purpose made and ready to fit catch tank for a zed, only universal ones, reason being is cos they are seldom required. It's not a bad thing if you want to make one and plumb it into the system, though personally i'd go with a PCV re route to prevent the valves clogging up so quickly if crankcase pressure is increased. Woody75 denver on twinturbo.net done a great write up showing the feeds coming from the rockers highest point and over the back of the engine. If your rockers are not fitted, i'd go that route. PCV valves however are not all rated the same, find out the PSI rating of ours and you can go up a certain amount too. HKS Amps appear to be used quite commonly across the pond and yes i would certainly try one of them, also changing the coil packs to the splitfires imo would be of use to you, however based on their performance of Jap cars in general, again not many zedders use them. Hope that helps smithy
  5. Gotta ask mate, if it's a big order which obviously means quite some ££££, why you want it marking down and take a risk ? okay maybe knock say 20% off at most, but more than that is a gamble. Oh an also ensure US and UK/Jap parts are compatible, whilst they sell worldwide, they don't sit there and think, "ah, this guy's part ain't gonna fit his model" Smithy
  6. If your not chasing the big numbers and she's a daily drive, then personally i'd simply have new hybrid tubs fitted, drive in drive out and should be supplied/fitted for just over 2K job done. Whilst the 2K for the other parts is a bit of a bargain, £1400 for fitting isn't but more importantly you really would have to consider upgrading other parts of the engine at great cost in order to benefit from the new set up. With labour and parts, you would kick yourself 6 months later when a piston decides to blow or the rings mash, engine out and then another couple of grand. If you had the cash now to open the block, fit new pistons/rings, slight re-bore and 120k service, then yep buy the JWT530 set up and be very happy, but from my experience, either a set of hybrids fitted and a service OR just buy the JWT's for say around 1200 and around 800 quid for fitting and jobs a goodun ;) you can always upgrade later on anything else. smithy
  7. Had no undertray for about 2 years and no arch liners for the past 12 months, only cos am lazy! but certainly no problems at all bud. smithy
  8. With all due respect Kim, lack of names for this event is NOT down to lack of enthusiasm, it's down to location. A number of other clubs are down on numbers too, whilst others maybe up. Unfortunately this new location is booked for the next 3 years, therefore can i suggest 2 things. 1) Either ask the members about an online AGM OR save it for a show that would have a bigger attendance. 2) The club should direct it's "alot of time and money" into Zedfest and Z009 as there is a far bigger chance of large attendance from the members as the locations are more Central, this being the MOST important factor to gain large numbers to any show Cheers Smithy
  9. Hi mate, glad yer like it, i kinda went for the clean and uncluttered look ;) Your right polished Alloy does start to oxidise after time and looks terrible. Also polished alloy, stainless and chrome finishes are all slightly different, so i wanted to get them all the same where possible. The balance bar, hard pipes and water pipes are all chromed and by the same company, nearly 10 years old those parts! some other little peiecs are also chromed but not really that good a finish, i bought them already done and spots of rust are appearing. The plenum is polished then laquered with a special laquer and i added a couple drops of Gold tint, so when the sun shines it's a bit different. Fuse covers, slam panel, power sterring pot and my own custom rad cover are all polished stainless. Various nuts/bolts are either stainless or titanium. All painted parts are true Candy apple Red (sprayed chrome 1st) with a Gold ghost flake added to the laquer for when the sun hits em :D Am thinking a new look for next year with something a bit special, so watch this space, lol cheers smithy
  10. Deffo as said before mate, at your level i'd go the John Dixon mapping session. My spec is fairly close to yours and i had the usual generic chip, John mapped mine at WRC technoligies in silverstone and she came out spot on and running 475lb of Torque! So it's worth the drive up to meet him ;) Other than that, i run and EGT gauge and an AFR lumenition monitor, though it's on narrow band, it certainly tells me if am ever running lean, which i ain't. Cheers Smithy
  11. Assuming the old strip is removed, a few dabs of strong super glue under the tip where it's lifting. When fitting from new and old strip is removed, place the new strip ontop of the cover and you'll see the cover is curved, with the new strip in your fingers, make a slight curve/bend to match, ( where the 3 is i think) place the strip back on the cover and it should all sit flat now. If it does then peal the backing off and apply, keeping pressure for a minute or 2. hth Smithy
  12. Wost case scenario is to allow 21% for import duty and VAT, add that to the cost of what yer buying and if still bargain, then buy em! smithy
  13. USPS is the post office mate. Biggest point being is the weight, are yer really gona save that much in buying discs and down pipes from the US ? both quite cheap in the UK anyway's, rest of the stuff would be okayish to send USPS. You have 2 choices with them, international priorty takes around 7 days or the slow boat to china via sea and takes approx 3 weeks! Home address or business makes no odds, parcel force decide if taxes/duties are due and then usually add a 10 quid surcharge for delivering it. Mark the value down at your own risk though. Personally i'd get yer coolers and water injection and stick em in the case, though again consider the suitcases get thrown onto planes etc. smithy
  14. Are your's from Z1 mate ? smithy
  15. Well that saves me answering your PM then, lol Smithy
  16. Apoligies, am looking at the GT600R turbo's which are a 5 bolt turbo. Dam :p smithy
  17. Yup, your confused :D 5 bolt down pipes required to fit. smithy
  18. Jaffa, in one of his other posts he mentions knackered seal on one tub and the usual basic mods. As for where to buy them, personally i've always favoured Turbo dynamics, their prices are pretty much average, great customer care and the only supplier i know who automatically fits stagger gap rear seals on turbo's for Zeds. There is of course Dany at DTA and you could also try a couple of Zed specialists for an "all in price" which would include turbo supply and fit, the benefit of this is they then tend to gaurantee the turbo's if they supply and fit, whereas if you supply the tubs, the garage will only gaurntee it's own work, obviously! cheers smithy
  19. Okay well hopefully this will decide for you once an for all. 2 things first, your end goal, do you want masses of power or just a nice quick Zed, if the 1st, then your gonna need far bigger turbo's and lots of other mods that costs big bucks, if the latter, then the GT525's you asked about are just the job! Next money, have you got loads, if not stick with the GT525's and be happy, if you have a bottomless pocket, go as big as you can fit cos you'll have the many other thousands to do the other work. No one really fits stock turbos these days, there are far more modified zeds around than there are stock, so uprated turbo's will greatly benefit your potential to sell the zed in the future should you wish too, plus you can enjoy the added power whilst you have the car. With the GT525 which is basically a hybrid T25, you can whip the engine out, replace with the hybrids and off you go, nowt else to do. If fitting yourself you'll save a few bob, if going to a garage expect to pay around £700-£900 depending on any other little jobs are done. You will benefit from a slight increase in power and acceleration as long as you keep the boost moderate to around 13psi. With a decatt, boost controller, chip, new coolers, induction, the car will run smooth as silk and be bloody quick! You can at a later date fit slightly bigger injectors and gain a wee bit more power again, however for t25's, they will pretty much be okay providing they are in good order. Should you decide on pretty much any of the bigger turbo's, you WILL need lots more ££££ not just for the turbo's but also the other mods required. Hope this answers all you need to know, if not ask here rather than starting another thread. smithy
  20. Danny is DTA-Motorsport mate, over in our traders section. hth smithy
  21. Personally i'd go with the gt525 mate, both really are considered as a stage 1 upgrade turbo wise, (T25) You won't need bigger injectors as they are only a slight upgrade over stock, however should you in the future wish to upgrade the injectors, you have the sligthly larger turbo's in place. They are also a 4 bolt design as per stock, so straight forward swap over. Think Danny does the 525's for about £1450 as a kit, best ask :) As for coolers, personally i'd go with decent side mounts, however some peeps buy them also for image, if that's yer thing. smithy
  22. thanks guys  lamp shader i may be in touch next week if i get stuck :) cheers smithy
  23. Folks am trying to get some personalised work done for work and the few companies i've sent the JPEG image to have said i need to have it in "Illurstrator" format, what's that ? and how do i change the image i have ? Cheers Smithy
