Take the starter off and turn the flywheel through the opening and also hold the converter to stop it moving

Was it corroded or just popped out? Just replace it with a new one they are so cheap? I have had 3 rust out before on a previous engine.

Yes that would be down to having a melted piston and 3 damaged valves!

You will need to replace them as a pair!

Put a very small amount of engine oil in all the cylinders and test again to see if its rings. (wet test)

Worn Rings or cracked broken ring lands or burnt valve
