280BHP? Pah! Try 36,000BHP
Wonder who has been bidding on it. Sadam has had to pull out of it since he doesnt have internet access in his cell. Gerdaffy will probably not bid any more since he has struck a decomissioning his weapons. Which means Bin Ladin has got it to himself. Stuart

Supras are not V6. Supras sound boring too. ;) On paper they are not too much different in speed 0-60. Its over that where the Z is its prime. It is a heavy car and it is a large car as it is a sports touring car and not a sports car like the MR 2. Its hard to say what the power is. Some say 300bhp some say 280. The US manual one is 300bhp and US Auto is 280. The Japanese Zs are 280bhp but its not too well known if the Euro/UK one is 300 or 280. Modifying it is easy. It all depends on how much money you have. Induction, exhaust, ECU chip and increased boost will give you anything between 350-400bhp depending on the condition of the engine. But a stock clutch wont last too long at that power. Only you can make that choice. The Evo 2 for me look boring dated and are no where near as good as the new ones, so dont think you are getting a fabulas car. You have the choise between 2 very different cars. MR2-T is a little light fast car, the 300ZX-TT is a heavy very powerful touring fast car, and EVO 2 is based on the old Rally car. Races? We dont race on here ;) I have seen off Porsche Boxters with ease and 911s for that matter. I will have no chance against a new 911 Turbo though, not may things will ;) A few went to Santa Pod a few months ago and all got very poor times. The track was slippy as hell and one lane was closed down because it was too slippy. I think the fastest time of the day was a Subaru only because of the 4WD. Supras, 300ZX, Lotus GT3 all had very poor times. Yeah they do. There is a 2 seater 300ZX but they are very rare and very sought after. :D Stuart

Any Ideas???
Could just be as simple as the hand brake switch is frozen. Its a comon thing on most cars. You may notice peoples reverse lights stuck on when it is really cold too. Stuart

Baby Shrimp due
You are only gonna get £2000 left then. Why not save up? I hear the MR2 turbo are worse off on petrol, I bet the insurance is about the same and it doesnt have desent boot or rear seats. Also Cam Belt change is engine out job apparently. True the rear seats are not that big on a Z but plenty big to put a baby chair in there. If you do get a MR2 stay away from the 1990/91, I heard somewhere the suspention is a little iffy

lights are so dim
No one knows. They are about £900 for the lot, bulbs, light units (Which looks great :D) and relays. They are meant to be a lot better. They where only available on the very late Japanese Zs and I cant see them doing them if they are not good. Not many people in the US have the as they shine the wrong direction for them. Cars which drive on the left have the lights shine more to the left so you can see the path and dont blind oncoming traffic. So in the US they shine the wrong way. I am planning on getting some (Fingers crosses if I ever do get the money soon) so I may be able to tell you. I am getting them because of same reason you are posting about. I gave my dad a lift home at night in the Z and he told me to put my lights on, I said they where, he then said put the dip lights on and not just side lights. He was a little shocked when I said the dips where on. The exchange rate to buy from the US is great at the moment. When I frist looked at the lights they where over £1200, but now they are around £900 I think. I will keep you posted on whether I am getting them and if they are any good if/when I get them. Stuart

alarms...
I bet you get a lot of text messages then. ;) Or is your Clifford not as paranoid as the others?
-
alarms...
I have a META alarm and it has never given me any trouble. It didnt even give the people who smashed my door handle off trying to get in any trouble. Or the people who ripped the rear spoiler trying to get at the lock. It also didnt give me any trouble when I opened the boot and climbing into the rear seats with out setting it off, and no trouble when I am sure I locked it but find it open the next morning, dispite the alarm meant to have an automatic locking timer on it. The alarm alone cost me £250 I then found that I could have got a Toad immobiliser and alarm from Bob for a little more than that. I would go for the Toad 606I I think it is, if it is still being made. Its the one I wanted but the Toad web site said RRP was £460. Bob offers a lot less than that. Stuart

its snowing
I had to come to work in my Z dispite the roads havent thawed out from last nights freeze. I would go in my daily car but the rocker box is leaking on the plugs and only fires on 2 cylinders when I start it up  The sky is really clear now, that is why it is so cold  Stuart

lights are so dim
The Xenon bulbs are not real Xenons. The Xenons I am talking about are the HID/Xenon. The bulbs themselves are about £100 each but will last for over 10 years. This is what I mean.
-
lights are so dim
Cos is developing some inserts to make the lights chromed inside. This should increase the amount of light which get out onto the road. The lights are also old and have 10 years of dust and dirt in them. If you wanted you could try take them out and give them a clean. You should be able to see the light bulb behind the glass but you often cant. Other suggestions are get higher wattage bulbs which are illegal and will only last a few weeks, or get Xenon light set, which are very expensive. Stuart

I Need Help
About a year ago I started to make a web site for Z beginners trying to answer all the stupid questions which we know but people ask, like, what to look for when buying (Not so much a stupid question) to what does it sound like, cost of running, UK/Jap differences and stuff like that. I think I will try to get it going again while I am off for a while. Stuart

Baby Shrimp due
Congratulations. I suggest this http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1844250598/ref=sr_aps_books_1_1/026-5667390-8422051 :D Haynes Baby manual. Haynes's best selling manual. You may laugh, but it does help you how to look after a baby, like how to warm up the food correctly and how to change a nappy, using step by step instructions and diagrams that we men folk thrive on.
