I believe it dates from around 1992 (late), as this is the Car brochure that it came with, although it does not have a date on it. Anyway, I was thinking today how much these items would be at today exchange rate, so I've been playing with Photoshop and a currency converter. The £ prices are converted at todays rate, but from the printed prices from '92 in the brochure (if you see what i mean?) Well that one is a series 2 PTU (NOT to be confused with a Series 2 Z32, as they are not related like that) It's very rare that one of these will suffer from the usual faults that befit the Series 1 PTU (ie; the silver 'Finned' version) I believe that you can not retro-fit a Series 1 PTU onto a car that was factory fitted with a Series 2 PTU. This is because the plugs are different between the 2 different versions. Now you CAN fit a Series 2 PTU into a car that was factory fitted with a Series 1 PTU, because the new PTU comes with an adaptor loom section that will convert the older style plug couplers to the new type. I hope that makes sense for you?
