Right got the chance to have a look this afternoon. Following this section, from the service manual, I discovered that I was receiving 6.3 volts at terminals 14 & 17 :shock: Now thats a bit high, and could explain why the unit isnt working. I checked 3 times to make sure that 1) I was on the right terminals and 2) thats the voltage I was getting. Also, yes, it's a very good multi-meter, a Fluke 33. andyduff, looks like your unit is looking promising............btw, what does LMK stand for :confused: sorry, just a bit thick at the mo :D

If everything is still OK for the 4th, then I'll see you then, much less hassel for me (ie - I aint got the kids :D), Sorry guys, still want to meet you lot though :bow:

I'm with jock on this, I use AOL, and the only probs I used to have were on dial-up, with getting connected. Since I got BB, no probs at all :D, oh and it only costs me £20 per month :D (576)

Hi guys, I am hoping to go to this, just a pain having the kids with me this weekend (not that i dont like having them), but will have to make my decission on Saturday morning (how the kids are, weather etc). I do want to go, especially to meet you guys. It also depends on my new tyres turning up and being able to have them fitted on time.

Yes mate everything else works fine, it is just the display. It wasnt a swop, Ive brought this unit, and having spoken to the person, we both beleive that this one is OK. I've done some checking since posting this, and will be looking at the loom between this unit and the Auto Amp unit, to see if I have a loom fault, or even if I need to replace the amp.

There should be 2 + 2, two left handed, with L embosed on them, and two right handed, with R embosed on them.

Air Conditioning Auto Amplifier? Having done a little investigation myself on my Air-Con display failure, I may have to find the Air-Con Auto Amp, so can anyone tell me where to find it. Yes I have looked in the service manual, but to no avail so far. Thanks in advance. :bow:

With all due respect, i meant that this way he could check that he was getting the correct fitting, i realise that he will be getting a new one, but you cant take the whole bloody car into the shop can you :D If the Jap and UK ones are identicle, then AudioLeads do this, and you'll have no problem finding an adaptor lead. Same goes for the aerial connector, although mine is a jap spec and its got a normal lead on. And I realise that Halfords are crap, but I did find that the guy who dealt with me in the Melton Mowbray superstore was very helpfull, cant say that much about the Grantham store though, it all depends on which monkey you end up with :D. Some of us dont live near decent places that offer a wide enough range of auto shops, so we have to make do.

I would agree with the Mongoose one, not too loud, have just been out to my car for you (in the cold, wind and dark) and checked with a magnet, it didnt stick to the back box. Cant say about the rest of it, cus its bloody wet out there as well :D. Worth a phone call to Luke at the ZCentre he may be able to help even though there isnt a 2 seater one listed on his site.
