Greg, tbh mate it isnt easy at all, but you do need to give youself plenty of time to do a good job, and yes I also need to redo some bits :D.

About the same condition as mine when I replaced them. Not so sure about the metal though, didnt have any probs in drilling mine. Did install some of that Dynamat stuff, but as the old ones were f***ed, couldnt tell if it did any good though.

Interesting to see so many Sony units recomended. I cant be doing too bad then, as mine is also a Sony, a XR-M510 RDS Cassette head unit coupled to a CDX-656 10 disc CD Multi-Changer in the boot. Pics below, as you can see when it is closed, there are no buttons to be seen, only flashing lights. Brightness is adjustable, as is whatever you want to be displayed. Also comes with a remote, for when the unit is closed :D, only cost me £250 all in :D, well impressed with it. Also got a Sony CD player in my other car:D Two pics with flash, and two without.

You guys are lucky, I started out with a 1977 Honda Civic 1.2!!!!!!!!! Great little car though :D and it was Japanese :tongue: But the thing is, we all have to start somewhere, and probably not always where we'd like to. Well done Dan :duffer:
