It basically boils down to this (and in every way I fully agree with what has already been written here) Even with a JSpec rear bumper recess you CAN fit UK standard size letters and font on a plate. And with the 99 JSpec front bumper you CAN still attach a UK standard size front plate (even though I did twist the sentiment once in regards to the which bumper it referred to, when questioned by PC Plod ;) ) so, as already said, it's down to PC Plod if you get pulled!

Whatever size the apature is, as long as you use standard font. http://www.fancyplates.com will make them up to order in standard or custom styles

On the "common as muck" side alone, how many S2000's do you see? Then ask yourself how many 300ZX's do you see? I bet you see a hell of a lot more S2000's than 300's ;) I very rarely see any Zeds these days (apart from the one I walk past every morning) The S2000 will probably be more reliable, but then it's a lot newer than a Zed. You can't really compare the two as they are totally different cars for different markets. You've got to look at it from the point of what YOU really want out of the car!
