Well if it was your head gasket, then you'd still get a spark from the plugs. I think you could be on the right track with your description and synopsis. There are two ways of testing this, one is to find a friendly Zed owner who, either, has a spare PTU, or is prepared to lend you theres! Or the other way is to go out and buy one, but this could be wasted money if it is somthing completeley different. Best bet is to try to find a friendly LOCAL Zed owner who is prepared to help you out. Post a thread in General, as it should get the most attention there. HTH

It would probably be better to wire it into your number plate loom. This way it wont affect you 'Lights-Out' circuit.

Your car doesn't!!! :D :rofl: :rofl: No, seriously, it can happen in a number of ways, some is just miss-firing, you can loose the odd cylinder, or the whole lot can pack up altogether. It just depends which part of the PTU goes first.

When I did my LED conversion on the dash, I also put a bright Blue LED in the auto leaver aswell, it did make a bit of difference, but not much.

Well I've been playing with mine today (the cam :rolleyes: ) and the NightShot mode is in infrared, so it will be in Black & White! As in "The Blair Whitch Project" and "Decent". Well so far it seems OK, and well up to the job of what I'll want it for, which is recording the kids at xmas, and filming Zed action at the various shows next year. Gona get another battery and a few discs. Also been playing with the Fuji........ It's got a lot of buttons :D And up untill I was playing with it did I realise that it's got a built-in flash. None of the sales bunf mentioned it at all, and no pics anywhere either (even Fuji's web site doesn't mention it) Glad I bought a larger xD card aswell, even though my 2 x 128Mb cards were more than enough before, this thing eats storage space, so I got a 256Mb one for now, might even get a 512Mb one later.

So if those were of 3 million, I wonder how big a 9 million will come out :shock: :rofl: This ones got the same size zoom lens that I've got for my old SLR, so it should be interesting what I can take ;) :rofl:

A coil pack connector going down could cause one cylinder to stop working properly, but from your description you have more than one gone. So the chances of more than one coil pack connector going suddenly all at the same time is very slim. The PTU can go slowly, with symptoms of different heat levels affecting it, or it can stop working altogether, or it can stop just some cylinders from working (as in this case, by the sound of it) It's basically a simple circuit board with individual controls for each spark plug. this has straight forward solder joints on it that can be affected by heat etc, the same that any circuit board can. But this one is attached to the front of the engine block with all the heat, moisture and vibration that you'd expect in there. Now moisture shouldn't affect it, as the whole board is immersed in a 'potting' compound to seal it in, this also stops it from being repaired easily. The only differences between PTU's is with the series one and two*, but the two's come with an adaptor harness, so they can be fitted to the one's *Series One & Two refers to the PTU, and NOT the Z32 HTH

I've always liked the Fuji cameras, I've still got my old Fuji SLR (cant remember the model now) I've even got a couple of lenses for the old one aswell. You cant even start to compare my old one to this new one... But it stood me in good stead :bow: And NO I'll try not to leave it on the bed ;)
