Urgent Help Required - PLEASE!!!
My DataScan is a serial version! David, can you remind me what is the correct procedure for stating DataScan up? Do you start the engine first and then plug the lappy in, or does everything have to be plugged in first, or what? Just so that I'm not doing it the wrong way round (although I'm pretty sure I've done it all ways round) Meanwhile, I've just taken Eliza for a blast, or four, round my local supermarket car park :D and she seems OK  I did a series of short and long blasts, along with more sedate driving, also kept stopping every so often to see how she was idling, and all seems fine, so I took her into town to fill up with petrol. Started her back up and she's running OK  Looks like I may need to investigate further still yet though! Thanks again for all the help. Dave

Yes there seemed to be a little popping from the exhaust. Yep, separated the filter from the MAF. It's a standard APEXi filter (bought from Danny)

Urgent Help Required - PLEASE!!!
Thanks to everyone so far.... The filter was only slightly damp. PTU is a series two, which has been relocated to under the headlamp centre panel, and has had the old series one connectore removed, and hard wired to the series two connectors. All of the Coil Pack connectors have been replaced along with the injector ones as well. Engine oil - OK. Gear box oil - OK. Water - OK. Water temp - OK. Oil Pressure - OK. Turbo boost - OK (when it does run at a decent RPM) As for DataScan - It has worked with the settings and connections that are present, so I don't see why it just wont connect (it's NOT set to Auto Connect)

orange broadband
Any problem I've had with mine so far has been sorted. The only real downside is that from about 4:30 PM until about 11 to 12 PM the connection is crap. Very, very slow indeed, in fact at times I'm sure dial-up is faster!! I've had mine since February, and I'm only 1/2 mile from the exchange, so I should be able to obtain 8 Mg but I'd be lucky if I receive anything above 6Mg at the absolute maximum!

Urgent Help Required - PLEASE!!!
Afternoon all :D Well it's happened, Eliza has become extremely ill! And I mean EXTREMELY!!! I was driving down to Leicester on Friday evening, no problems all the way, until I got onto the M1, then I got a few 'coughs' and 'splutters'! Got off at junction 21a and pulled upto the traffic lights and Eliza died! Took a lot of starting again, then once it was started she was running very rough indeed. To cut a long story short, after a lot of dieing on me and restarting, I was eventually able to get to Karen's house. I suspected that the MAF and APEXi might have got wet somehow in the rain, so took them off and dried them out over night (the filter was a little damp) Replaced them in the morning, and took her for a test drive (as she started OK) round the village once and she started to die on me again! Anyway Eliza is now back home (after another trip on the back of a lorry! :( ) I thought I'd attach my DataScan to Eliza and see if I could come up with anything! But no! Not in the sense of not finding anything out, but the CRAP software wouldn't connect to the ECU (again!) In the six months or so I've own DataScan I've had it connect to my ECU twice so far! This has got to be the worst waste of money I've ever spent on her! ConZult may be expensive, but at least it bloody worked EVERY TIME I wanted it to, DataScan is just CRAP! So, can anyone help with suggesting where to look for the rough running/dieing? And can anyone suggest what to do with the DataScan, to get it to bloody work? TIA Dave

Jae
I've taken the decision, that, considering I've got the kids with me this weekend, I'm now no longer going to JAE at all this year. I'm just 30 miles north of the Showground, and it's been teaming it down here this afternoon, so I can imagine what it's like down there!! Not bad, all three shows I wanted to attend this year are total wash-outs! :(
