First off, if a cat is fitted to your car from new. Is it leagle to do away with it? Fanncy getting rid and replace with SS down pipes without cats. Saw add for them size was 2.3/8th inch diam for standard . Sounds about right before I crawll underneath, and would I find a difference in perfofmance? because I'm not into a lot of noise just to get noticed. And what's a fair price for this conversion. The car is a 1996 TT SWB

My car passed the MOT last March red fog light bulb wired to off side reversing light holder. Due again on the 14th of March. So what was good last year shouid stand good for this year I recon.

Thanks silverbullet on advice on what you can, and can not mix and to everyone else who put in their bit. Think my system is standard but shall be carefull. We all know that need for confidence when you stamp on that pedal.

Thank guys, I think. Confused yes. Dot 3 would be good if I can find it Dot 4 and 5.1 I can buy at Halfords. But which one? and can I just top up, or would the system have to be drained. Must be because it's a Jap car it's on Dot 3, because all previous cars I've owned which were older were on Dot 4.

It says in the instruction manuel and on the filler cap use Dot 3, but I've been to Halfords and they don't stock it. So where do I get it.

It's a MOMO steering wheel, and driving in a straight line the centre spoke looks about 31-32 mins past the hour. 1996 import with electronic HICAS. NOT meaning to hi jack your thread mattymoo just thought it was all relevent. Type HICAS into google and you shall find what I read on how to put HICAS into diagnostic mode. like I said before I coudn't get it to work.

I've read on the net to turn the steering wheel from right to left for 20 sec and dab on the brakes. tried it but didn't work. My amber light comes on after about 5miles driving along a road a speed, but can drive around town for ages and it never comes on. would like to know about it and dose it matter.

My car is a 1996 imported March this year. Has front fog lights but no rears. But has a nice rocker switch lockated around the side of the main dash which puts front fog on only, or rock back to make the reat fogs come on at the same time, which I mentioned before are red bulbs wired into the reversing light slots. Passed the MOT this way, so must be ok.

when I switch my fog lights on my side lights come on as well. Mind you no signe of rear fog lights accept for the red bulb in place of half the reversing lights when amber switch on- Only had the car three weeks. Wonder if that's standard fitting on import.

Thanks guys very interesting. AS I have good yokohamas 225/45/17 on 8" J front, had thought about yokohama 265/45/17 0n the 9" J rear think it shouid clear wheel arch. But why according to you MarkZX should the profile be 40 for the rear to keep the rolling radius right? Please excuse my ignorance, and that's why I'm hear talking to everyone. Reading about the yokohama S type ultra performance tyre had me thinking that it would be the business, but maybe some doubt about the wet.

But today mundane job with skreen washer. rear working can hear pump working off side front but front skreen dead. Bit of a job getting to the underside of the skreen wash tank and being on my owne didn't help. never mind shall be another day. Legrath says remove limiter. I'm all for that. But AndyP says it's a pig off a job. Need to find some one local to help me , or it's expensive bills at my nearest Nissan garage when I can manage it.

My wheels are Panasport Racing Super Rim System 17x9 JJ rear and 17x8 JJ front which has the yokohamas. Quavey bought the car at Keighley with a trade in. Think I got a good deal. It's built as a 2 seater car. Engine as sweet as a nut good oil preassure and when you floor it, it dont have kick. Top speed cuts out at 115mph yet loads of power left.

Had a thatchem cat one fitted to my car on 11/08/2007 and it has a chirp.

New proud owner of a 1996Fairlady. Needs new rear tyres very soon. Tyre size is 225/45/17 intend to find out if a 245 would fit comfortably on the rim. the front tyres are yokohama and almost new. Was wondering what you guys thought was the best and any info you can give me.
