  3. pure audio is something ive never been much into, although i appreciate it i dont have any music that i can honestly say and need to listen to in anything better LOL
  4. i have toned it down a bit when i moved house as the living room is smaller but i have a 50" panasonic 1080p plasma, sony bluray, sky hd, denon 4306 amp running B&W MT-30 speaker system and quality cabling and interconnects etc sounds good for a small speaker set up and the sub is amazing but then again the sub was £1200 on its own LOL my last system was slightly bigger running 7.1 again with B&W speakers and a projector with a 8 foot screen :D great for the footy
  5. dont get me wrong i have about £10k worth of home cinema kit in my front room but just wanted a cheap and cheerful system for my ps3 in my games room as the sound of the tv on the wall is a but kak LOL i think i have sourced a samsung 2.1 system second hand for £35 now :) which i'm sure will be fine cheers for the input Mike
  6. Any ideas? Its for my games room and mainly for my ps3 so must have an optical input and cheap as possible ;) Mike
  7. well done guys, still think you would have won si if you had viper stripes and flames down the side but thats just me LOL
  8. no its not easy as you have to strip the top end down to get to the head bolts but get a leak down test done first to see if your losing any pressure anywhere and then take it from there, if you can a compressor i have a leak down tester you can borrow if you cover the postage and post it back when your done :) Mike
  9. no worries i'm about to venture upstairs and have an hour on it :)
  10. mines kirbz73 i'm always in cod4 LOL
  11. yeh thats what i meant the R33, the R34 again had the same upgrades as the UK 33's and also connelly leather interior :)
  12. i was on the forum last night and the forum mods have emailed the game developers and they are looking into another patch to stop it Mike
  13. its caled god mode, they did patch it last year but the hackers have now got around it, it means you can fly in the air and land on buildings miles away and sniper people!! and go through walls so on the likes of head quarters they can get there mega quickly and get it :( i first seen it yesterday and while playing head quarters i was the only person in there and i wasnt winning it???? and when i looked there was a face just sticking out of the wall next to the headquarter!!! so i shot him in the head and won it anyway LOL
  14. no they were classed as UK models, they had different lights fitted, upgraded oil and diff coolers on them and i think a slightly different interior Mike
  15. ive stopped playing cod 4 online at the moment as its been hacked badly with people flying through the buildings etc cheating tw@ts
  16. have a leak down test done to see if you losing any from the HG or anywhere else white smoke and losing water points to head gasket could also be the cometic head gasket need torqueing down, your meant to retorque cometic head gaskets down after running them in Mike
  17. free?? jesus not many mappers do it for free LOL not heard good things about the link ecu on the 300zx, i know a couple who have tried it and then removed it as it didnt control certain elements correctly but i know its well used and works well on the supra
  18. spot on john i do think that mapping etc always seems to be low on peoples budgets when it comes to building a car, ive seen loads of people over the years that wont bat an eye lid about spending £10k on the engine then order a £50 chip over the counter from jwt etc ive had several cars mapped on the dyno and never had any problems but i have always used a tried and trusted mapper which is so important, i also like you would never try to just get the maximum gains out of a setup its all about driveability unless your purely setting up say a drag car. I would have liked to go more into mapping as i enjoyed setting up my aem and putting a base map on there, was satisfying when you go from nothing to a nice idle to nice revs upto a certain limit :)
  19. I know what your saying but so many times i have seen really good spec zeds and then they take short cuts on the mapping and ecu which remember is the brain of your whole car so its sooooo important to get it right and as everyone has said its really important to get someone who has a good reputation as there are alot of sh1te mappers around and trust me i know cars which have been to one place and the owner was happy and then had a remap at somewhere else and made alot more power but was actually a safer map!! so its really an art form. At the end of the day its your car and money so you do what you feel is best for you ;) Also smithy with 89mm pistons it takes the displacement to what would be classed as a 3.1 and 90mm pistons take it closer to 3.2ltr :) cant remember exactly what the figure is but i have it somewhere LOL Mike
  20. with that kind of spec your always going to get more from it with a stand alone ecu and more importantly the correct mapping of it, if you have invested so much in the rest of the car you should always put a decent amount aside to make sure you have an ecu and map which will get the most of your car. Mike
  21. but doesnt that mean your going another inch further out but your going back in 8mm with the offset which in my calculations makes that 17mm further out than your currently have already LOL could be wrong which wouldnt be the first time but i was more concerned with rubbing on your inner arches but this could do both best be would be to go to the ultralite place and try them :)
  22. et20 is to big an offset for a zed anyway as it will push the wheel close to being out of the arch, may just be ok but means it will clear big brakes no problems but your main problem is 9.5" which is just too big you will catch the tyres with that width and offset i think so i would look more at a 8.5" front and 9.5" rears. i know the guy at ultralite in preston and i the wheels are very good as i had them on my zed but with black centres :) Mike
  23. yeh something like that i know its high 12's so whens yours going to be running :)
  24. depends on how you define fast, 1/4 mile, top speed, 0-60 there not many fast times been done in a zed in this country
