  1. I would go straight for a leak down test or compression test to be sure Mike
  2. nice one :) what work did you have done? Mike
  3. not that i doubt jimmer as i have never used him or know anyone who has used him but i think what jaffaz32 is saying he wants to go to someone who can guarantee the build, has experience of big horsepower builds and is willing to take the project on. now jimmer might come one here now and say he has built half a dozen 600+ bhp zeds?? i dont know and if he does then hats of to him :) if he has not then i dont think its what jaffaz32 is looking for from what he's saying?? Mike
  4. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/119120-os-giken-os88-ii-uk-sequential-gearbox.html Mate of mine is selling his skyline box, with a few mods it could be made to fit a zed, it plate the front prop up and custom drive shaft and there you have a 6 speed sequencial box that will handle 1000+bhp ;) snip at £7500 installed
  5. i gave up on my build a long time ago LOL our preference was to run 1 feed to the original rail feed and just run the second to the top to feed in cold fuel to the second rail then run the return as nissan intended via a FPR and a larger line Mike
  6. thats cool. didnt one of the lion mans staff recently get eaten by one of their lions?
  7. i dont think its so much just build the engine its more when going down silly power route pretty much everything you do has to be custom made etc so its getting a garage on board which 1. can do this and 2. willing to do this not saying jimmer cant do it ;) Mike
  8. i cant see why your way would not work, if it was mine i would run the first supply feed to where yours is going ie the bottom but i would take the return from the top ie where it does from stock and just add the 2nd feed to the front where the 2 rails join then your not upsetting the standard fuel flow. Mike
  9. yeh realised what i had said was wrong, we were going to run a feed into the rear of the fuel rail and also run another one to the front of the rail and T into the rail :) Mike
  10. same happened when we all went on the z run, an asian kit in a civic type r went down the straight and it never turned in and went straight into the barriers and rolled it LOL we went past just after it happened and the car was on its side on the grass LMAO Mike
  11. as a rule (ish) 370cc injectors can give you around 370 rwhp and so in and so forth but you can up the fuel pressure to get more but it gives you an idea :) Mike
  12. i was going to run 2 lines from 2 pumps, both feeding the front of each fuel rail to keep it cooler and then T it into 1 return pipe Mike
  13. its simple bud, yes there not the easiest car to work on, there are not many high performance parts available for the 300zx and in the early stages there were next to none hence why no one started to tune them and not many people have the long standing experience with them unlike say the skyline which was tuned from the early stages so more parts sere developed and garages started specialising in them ie abbey, RB Motorsports, GT ART etc The only person i can think of who might look at one is TR Racing, rob there is very well respected and i know he gets involved with other stuff as well? You are correct though, an engine is just an engine, ours just has more pipes and a couple of turbos attached but apart from that it still works like any other kind of engine Good luck ;) Mike
  14. i think your main issue is a proven track record of high power builds which with all due respect to all the people mentioned none of them have this and pretty much no one else either in this country Mike
  15. i think you will struggle bud which i why i bought in an engine from the states and was putting it together myself. i know phil in manchester has done a couple that i know of running medium power, not sure about mega power though. most of the "big" tuners wont touch them Mike
  16. we hope to come back to amsterdam later this year or next year so will give you a shout ;) Mike
  17. stenorth has a 330d so be worth asking him about them :)
