  1. Link please! Cheers.
  2. OK now i'm really confused! Basically, the story is that i need 4 new tyres. I'm thinking that i may well be able to get some second hand 17s or 18s with 4 good tyres for not much more than the price of 4 new tyres. And then of course i could sell my current alloys for something. Would anyone mind taking a look at these: 18s on Ebay OK so they're on a Civic at the mo... but i like the style. Would they fit?
  3. Ah sorry Mario, rereading your first post, i see that you've already answered my Q. I'm after 5stud 114.3 pdc, fine.
  4. Si, I'm getting the impression that i can go for various J measurements then. I guess my main concern is that i'm getting something that will definitely fit straight on to my Z. Are all wheels universal fitment then? Or do i need to be looking for a specific fitment for it? And if so, what code should i be looking for?
  5. Nice wheels, but i'm in London so a fair old way away for pickup. Also, i'm hoping to get ones with 4 good tyres already on.
  6. I'm needing some new wheels. At the moment the tyres are 225/55/16. If i were to look for some larger alloys (17 or 18 maybe) what would i need to look for? Is there a code? I see things such as "Stud" and "J#" but i'm not sure what these mean. Thanks (1992 import TT)
  7. OK thanks. One thing i noticed is that the original ones have only 1 middle screw, whereas the replacements have two, top and bottom. Is this a difference between models, or has someone maybe put a different fitment on in the past, hence the screw acting up?
  8. I noticed that one of the pieces of lens was missing from one of my front indicators. Rather than try to find a replacement piece of lens, i decided to get whole new crystal clear fitments. These have arrived, but there are a couple of issues i'd appreciate running by the helpful folks here: -Any tips on fitting this? I tried removing the original lenses to have a look, but the screw just keeps turning and never comes out. Is there a bolt on the other side that is turning? Anyone have a how-to? -The CC fitment has a hole for a sidelight bulb, while my original ones have this hole blanked out. I have checked the how-to on adding extra sidelights here (in the FAQ section here) and this seems like a good idea, but i'm not sure where i'd get the slot-in bulb holder that i'd need.
  9. "Obstructing the course of justice"? Can be quite serious IIRC. Good point.
  10. Maybe a really old one that's about to die. Then i can just say i never got around to removing the flap.
  11. Haha, love it. It's almost worth getting a cat.
  12. Thanks for that. I did actually come across that, but have to say that i really wasn't 100% convinced either way. What bothers me: -The specifically say "snooper". A snooper is a brand which (i believe) works on GPS which i know is not illegal. -The only legal precedent listed was 9 years ago, and i have heard that the laws regarding detectors were set to be reviewed recently. Has anyone who uses one had any problems when pulled over? Do you just unplug it or hide it?
  13. YEah i was pretty sure the jammers were illegal. So how does the use/own this work with detectors? You unplug it if you get pulled over? How dodgy is this?
  14. I've been searching for a difinitive answer on this, and some people seem to think that radar and laser detectors are illegal, and some say this is still being discussed. What is the current legal stance on these? Thanks
  15. I will certainly post up some "after" pics when i have them.
  16. Definitely uber cool! (In a cheesy way)
  17. Nice one, this sounds like a great compromise.
  18. I'm liking this idea but what do you mean by "then back to black of tyre black and do like me"? There is some kind of tyre paint which i could use?
  19. Woah, we're talking about £250 for 6 bits of rubber...
  20. Isn't that a big job? Something i could do myself or not? Do you have a link for the Z centre?
  21. There are some rubbery strips on the bodywork, namely below the windows, between the windows and the targa tops, and along the sides of the windscreen. On mine it is rather messy and discoloured, as show in the pics below: I'd like to neaten it up. The car is black. Do i need some special type of paint to do this, as i can imagine that normal paint will just flake off, what with the rubberiness? Are there any other suggestions, or ideas, something other than black? Wouldn't want to be too garish though. Cheers.
  22. Good advice. If it comes to using a cellulose thinner, is there a brand name i should be looking for? I'm kind of new to this sort of thing!
  23. Thanks a lot. Very helpful
  24. I've had a look through the how-tos on here and another Z site, but couldn't find anything suitable. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a how-to on changing the headlight bulbs? And also for changing the side repeaters (bulbs and covers) Finally, how many posts before you are allowed an avatar and sig? 50?
  25. When i bought my Z it had a cheapo black tint on the rear windscreen. This was the type where it's like a film of plastic with some kind of tinting dye underneath. It had bubbled and it was impossible to see anyting out of that window. I've managed to remove the film without taking any of the heater elements with it, but the screen is still covered with this kind of powdery black residue that seems stuck fast. On someone's advice, i tried white spirit and a plastic kitchen scouring pad. This does work, but it takes forever, and as you can imagine it's an awkward angle to be scrubbing. In about half an hour i had only managed to clear about a 3 inch square off the glass. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there are better solvent to use than white spirit? Or could i use an electric sander with a scourer instead of sandpaper?
