HI Rodney, well the update is that with the collective opinion of loads of people is that nobody can agree on what went wrong. There was obviously a problem when they were fitted to my car but the turbos when tested on a bench tested ok. what are you wanting to achieve ? an how much are you wanting to spend? maybe this might give you some ideas: I'm buying the pentroof's by the way Greddy TD05-18G - macca nutter turbos Pentroof TD05-16G + manifolds and wastegates £4,500 and the dogs danglies - should be good for 550 uk fwhp with internal engine mods Greddy TD05-16G + manifolds and watsegates £3,500 a good kit but not quite as good as the pentroof - should be good for 550 uk fwhp with internal engine mods Smithy stage II-III £2,000 turbos only - should be good for 450 uk fwhp - would probably benefit from the divorced wastegate downpipes. I wouldn't really recommend spending any less than this because the advantages over stock would be minimal other turbos to consider JWT 500 / 530 well respected quick spooling turbos HKS 2530 one of the quickest spooling of the big turbos Other things to consider getting your turbos from SE Nissan - They can supply a T28 hybrid (probably good for 400 uk fwhp) or a full T28 which would be good for over 500 uk rwhp with appropriate engine mods. the thing to bear in mind is that if SE supply and fit the turbo everything is covered under warranty if anything goes wrong. all turbos will benefit from a decent air intake and the internal wastegated turbos will benefit from the divorced wastegate downpipes. So in short you pays your money and takes your choice. This is nowhere near a complete list but i hope it has been some help. other references http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=839668 http://cherrypicker.tripod.com/turboupgradeforvg30dett/ http://www.ooparts-international.co.jp/index/car/listbybrand/pentroof/index.html http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/ http://www.turbodynamics.co.uk/ Regards, alex
  4. yes mate that's what i was looking for. My dilemma is this - i'm putting on a new nose with no seperate side lights - Will the dim headlights / sidelights on the UK car suffice. In which case is it as simple as buying a set of UK lights and wiring them up in UK fashion? secondly if i then convert this set up to HID will it still perform the funtion of sidelights? Regards, alex
  5. I thought the J spec had separate side lights but the UK spec didnt

I agree, re-profiled cames tend to take advantage of higher revs on higher boost. I would have thought with non stock cams though verniers would have been a must. Just to repeat myself - get a greddy profec e-01 bost controller ;) Regards, alex

why new cams? are they still stock ? if not you should have ditched the vvc and gone for verniers? ok so include the wide arse in the body kit then...... some toys - a good boost contrller something like the profec e-01 - and racelogic traction control - i have to say go for nismo 555 injectors runing 14-15psi the standard injectors are working pretty hard - then uprated intercoolers - isnt chris doing a deal on some? Regards, alex

very weird - i'm going to guess that that is a good result on a weird test, if your are going to loose compression you would normally expect to see it on 5 and 6 - if those results are true she would probably have driving issues and be well down on power if everything seems ok whn driving i would guess that it is. my 2p Regards, alex p.s. is there any chance the engine could have been turned over on the bench??
  21. sounds like i call i had years and years ago when was selling my car - they seem to go through autotrader - complete waste of money - if they have loads of people interetsed - tell them you will be willing to pay so long as they provide the list of people and by the way you are taping the conversation. oh ps dont sell the car - but i bet you have heard this before Regards, alex
