what is the minimum width of a stair case - no minimum but stadard width is 860mm - you really dont want to go any less than 750mm is thee a restriction on ceiling hiegths - yep 2m if your building a second storey on to an extinsion of about 15 years should footings be ok - no way to tell if you didnt build it - you need an inspection form an engineer - not very expensive if you dig your own hole - £250 ish the property working on is about 200 years old if this makes any difference o yes and how long after a build do the inspecters come around - once you have approved building regs they will only inspect on key stages i.e. footings etc you have to call them in for this. if you are building under a building notice then call them in more frequently to avoid any errors.
