Need front number plate bracket
Mate, if you want to drill the plate, drill from the front resting on a block of wood. Drill fast but don't press too hard as this might crack it, sort of let drill do work/melt your way through.

EGR?? Help!!
I'm sorry to bring this up again but I've looked back on the search and my question never really gets answered. I have fitted Decat pipes so the EGR pipes from the exhaust just hang there, what is the minmum I need to remove/block off for car to run normally. At this stage I'm not bothered about taking it all off, I'll do that when I've got more time. If anyone has photos/pictures that will be great. Jase

Fast Fan!!??!!
Sorry, forgot to say its a TT.

Fast Fan!!??!!
Whacked the ZED on consult the other day and was playing with everything as you do! I noticed that I could not switch on the fast side of the fan but it worked on the slow side. Has anyone else experienced this? and what did you do to fix it? I'm thinking that as I bought the car as a basket case with the headgasket gone its probably important to make sure all the cooling is correct. jase

Decat pipes-What do you do with.......?
Hi Guys, just fitting decat pipes to my 90TT. What do you do with the Exhaust recirc rubber pipes from the old front pipes? Do you just tie them up or do you have to block them or do you join one side to the other? Will I need to do anything anywhere else on the engine IE with EGR valves etc. Regards Jase

Rubbish Nissan Dealer
I used to work for Baileys in Canterbury, Kent. In the mid 90's The parts and service department very quickly cottend on to the fact that Imports were in fact not that diffrent from Uk stuff and we could work on them and get parts and so generate money. They are very helpful if you want genuine stuff and use'd to offer a discount for Zed club members. I've just bought a Fuel filter, Auto box sump kit and the brake servo vac pipes, all were got over night and available next with discount!!!! I remember in 94 doing all the conversions on a rather odd, basic Skyline to comply with UK regs and it went from there. they still supply stuff to a couple of local guys who are big locally on Imports. Worth a call if you this end of Kent.

Just been offered 300Zed!?

Just been offered 300Zed!?
I used to be in the motor trade and still have my contacts. Got a call today, one of them has taken a 300ZX TT auto in PX and wondered if I might want it. Of course I shot down there to find a rather tired looking old G plate. I started her up and she runs on 5 and theres no water in Rad and the HI-cas light is on cause theres no fluid in the pot. I've done a search on the site looking for something completely diffrent and saw the very same 300 for sale for £4000+ by "Antf" back in 2005. Looks like Antf looked after and loved his 300 but the owner after him doesn't appear to have kept it up.Shame Still thinking about whether to have it or not, havent finished the other one properly yet! Anyone know Antf? thought he might be interested. Jase

Hissing/lack of power????
FOUND IT!!! Hose clip loose on one of the pipes from one of the intercoolers, pipe had slid back. Made a seal until boost got too much then popped back hence the hissing. Spent a couple of hours checking vac pipes, recirc valves etc still at least I know they all ok. thanks for replies. Jase

Hissing/lack of power????
Hi everybody, Got a little problem you maybe able to help with. When I accelarate the boost goes to almost +7 so boost is good. Then as it picks up power drops, boost stays the same but I get a loud hissing. I know that I've got an after Turbo leak but having only had a quick look I can't see anything obvious. Is there a particular pipe or weakness where the pressurized air escapes. Or is it just a case of looking to find it!!!! Jase

Am i mad?
Hi Mate, I took mine out and put it back with only minor help from someone to operate engine crane, when putting back in. Mines an auto and I undid box and just pulled out engine. Not much room round the back!! I think the workshop manual says to lift engine and box out in one, but someone else with a workshop manual will be able to clarify that. Jase

removing O2 sensors
Hi Mate, thanks for that will pop down after the weekend, is it OK to come to work? Don't want to upset your boss!! Have access to Consult anytime so just as easy to run it in there and plug it in. Will change sensor and see how it goes, any other ideas should this fail? regards Jase

hesitation at about 100
Mate mine does this, except if I back off and plant foot gently it will creep up. Went on Consult the other day and an O2 sensor is down. Gonna change it shortly and hope it sorts it, will let you know. Jase PS checked timing, temp sensor connections etc this was all ok.

removing O2 sensors
Hi Paul, yeah its me, finally got it going and worked out this site. You still got Zed mate? I don't see it outside anymore or you opening the posts at work? PS you got an O2 crows foot socket? I've got a dead sensor. Just out of interest would this cause me a hesitation/ lack of power at speed? It won't hard accelerate but will creep up? Jase

removing O2 sensors
Hi Mate, used to work for Nissan in the early 90's and all we had were 2 posters and a raised 4 poster that 300's didn't fit on. We used to have a wide 2 poster and someone would lift the arches slightly to get the feet under the sill. Whether you get to them from top or bottom, still a bit odd for a garage to just give up!!??! Not very customer friendly me thinks. When we used to get Luton topped vans in for work they never fitted in workshop so we did them outside on Jacks, rain or shine! Your garage can't need the business! Jase

Lots of Q's, exhaust, cruise, funny binging noise??
Hi Guys, I bought my Zed 3 years ago from the dock side (straight from Japan)with a knackered engine (head gasket), wife, kids, divorce have meant that it took me 3 years to rebuild the engine.(without the wife would of taken a week!) Finally got it running in January. Its 1990 TT auto and has cruise/A/C etc. So, history over, heres where I hope you can help. Firstly..... I want to Decat it but can only seem to find one kit on ebay and this kit does away with the EGR, I'm thinking EGR there for a reason or can you just leave it hanging?(so to speak) Secondly, the cruise control doesn't work over, what seems to be, 65/70 mph,is this due to japanese speed laws??? and how do I over come it? Thirdly, connected to Q2,there is this faint Bonging/Binging noise at around the same speed which I believe must also be due to speed laws, where do I find this Bonging thing and can I just remove it? Thanks in advance Guys, Jase

Hesitation????
Hi there Can anyone help. I have 1990 Zed twin turbo that I bought from importers with head gasket gone. I have totally rebuilt it and it runs a treat. The problem is that on heavy acceleration it starts to hesitate and hold back. If you plant the peddle gently it will creep up ok but not great. If you whack the A/C on its even worse!?! No horrible smoke or noises though. I have noticed that the return fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail looks new, but when I tested it with a vaccum gauge it doesn't do anything! Could this be the problem? Or is there another explaination? Def think its Fuel related. Please help supposed to be cruising to Spain in it in September. thanks in advance, Jase
