  1. The heat treatment will stop it flexing and bending, giving it a "like titanium" quality. The only thing i will need is approx. sizes. I need the height, width, hole pitch, etc... If you can get together some dimensions jim, i can get 'em fabricated by next week. (only rough dimensions buddy) Al.
  2. aahhhh...... i see...... they are connected to the tension rods. Maybe i could manufacture them from precipitated aluminuim (heat treated in an oven at high tempurature for 12 hrs) the same, but with the lower part that is welded to the rod, slightly longer laterally, and use jubilee clamps to secure to the tension rods. What do you think? Al.
  3. If you can get the pics for the "tein braking airflow system" i can have a go and manufacture 'em for me and you buddy, but dont tell anyone else!!!! LOL Al.
  4. I think i am gonna go for the "zcentre" D2 set up £799. Am a bit fed up with warping too many discs for £200 a pop. Looks good to me, what do you think jim? Al.
  5. The brackets look spot on!! Machined aluminium billet, nice tight fit and quite "chunky". 350Z brembo discs should hold up to hard braking, and they aint cheap!! Al.
  6. I think i am gonna save some cash and go for the big brake set up and be done with it!!!! Al.
  7. I am running Z1 refurbed calipers, relocation brackets, EBC yellow pads and EBC 350Z brembo discs. I think the reason the discs are warping is the relocation brackets maybe a fraction out, i.e. the caliper is now "offset" to the disc, thus after some heavy, hot braking, the caliper "pulls" the disc out-of-line and it warps. Albeit, it only happens now and then?!?! (the steering wheel judder) Very strange. Al.
  8. do it tomoz matey, if you like. I need a good venting system for my front brakes, keep warping my discs after heavy braking, 2 sets of front rotors in 1 year!!! Must be the old aluminium calipers cannot disapate the heat, unlike the cast iron ones. Not good. Al.
  9. Got any pics jim, maybe i could fabricate 'em. Al.
  10. Same here matey, don't fit 'em. Lovely interior in ur 300  Al.
  11. Nice video, good to see 300 mech's at work. I think "jimmer" should do a video like this on his engine re-builds, then people can see what goes into the build and the quality of his work, and it is top quality. Only a thought tho. (Soz for the semi hi-jack Damo matey) Al.
  12. Bring it back, love looking and voting for COTM, and me want another shot at the title.....LOL!!! Al.
  13. Joel, why don't you live near me?!?!!? Top bloke here matey, will help you no end, and got very good 300 knowledge. Al.
  14. Hey jimbo, when you fit these cold puppies, let me know how your 300 performs, and if it is good...... then me is gonna get a set baby!!!!!! (you is the guinea pig buddy, but i am watching with rabbits eyes in head lights lol!!!) If all goes well, i see a sticky coming up!! I like you.... hanging your balls out there!!! Al.
  15. I remember i had the same/similar problems as yours matey, run good when cold then run on 5 when warm. Mine was the PTU, series I. Changed to series II and all was fine, for a bit, until i discovered i had a vac/boost leak. The symptoms/signs are very alike to running on 5. Might be worth a look for vac/boost leak as you seem to have ruled everything else out. HTH. Al.
  16. Sounds like you have done the whole check-list there matey. Do you have a garage near-by who could help you out? Al.
  17. It looks ok to me, but for a few more pounds i would go for a greddy profec B spec II. I have 1 and it is flawless, as do many 300 users here. Al.
  18. I believe they do work from a standard ariel. Must be good, as every car stereo is turning to DAB. Al.
  19. Agree with Damo, no engine/interior pics, not a very convincing ad. I would avoid matey. Al.
  20. Not sure matey, but am sure after the new year celebrations a tech will help you out. Al.
  21. Good man!!!! There are many genuine and helpful people here if you get a little stuck!! Al.
  22. Welcome matey. Doing the conversion yourself? Al.
  23. Very true words matey!!! Nice one Jeff. Al.
  24. Good find Dan, so.... i guess i will go for the one on the right, 11b. Al.
  25. I was at the Nurburgring last year when my o/s rear hicas joint failed. Maybe it was on its last legs, dunno. That swayed me to get rid. I remember when i got my 300 approx 5 years ago, took it to Mr Feeny for a service and thorough look over, and the first thing he said to me when i picked my car up was, "get the hicas gone". 5 years later, and its gone. Al.
