imho 300's are a good car, well designed for the 90's. my 300 is not a daily drive and i think a car of this age must be in top form to be driven daily without problems. pete, i hope you get your 300 sorted mate, it is very fustrating when things go bad. al.

i started my 300 for the first time for approx 3-4 months, had a dead battery, boost issues and smoking, so i thought no point driving until jimmer rebuilds my engine. anyway, fitted new battery and she started on the first turn, a little smoke, a little tapping, but sounded fine. just need to get me a mot and drive to bristol to see jimmer. i love my 300!!! al.

is it a new series II ptu?

i am no expert by any means, but you may have a wiring break down. possibly a chafed wire that delivers power to the plug therefore no spark. might be worth checking the loom for correct current to that plug. as i said i am no expert, just read your previous posts about this and it looks like you have gone down all avenues. al.

i like the idea of putting a splitter on the front, at nurburgring in 2008, i had a little understeer at high speed into a corner, maybe this would be less with a splitter? al.

nice car bud, looks good. if you are thinking of upgrades, get a hid kit for the headlights.... best and cheapest a/m kit by far. al.

thanks for the input guys..... i took my 300 to nurburgring in the summer and may have cooked the pads, so to speak. they squeal when warm/hot, nothing when cold. think i will go for red ebc. just hope they dont make pig noises when pulling up to a set of lights, making me look like a complete bacon head!!!!! cheers all, al.

am going to change my front pads. running ferrodo 2500 at the mo, but the f**king squealing is doing my head in!! :x::x: thinking of either ebc red stuff or yellow stuff. have read the write ups for both pads, red seems ok, but i know the braking on a zed suffers from huge amounts of heat, so, the yellow option seems a winner, but does yellow squeal like the ferrodo 2500??? if it does then its a big no,no!!! is anyone running theses pads? all feedback welcomed. cheers people, al.

hey u lot....... i went to nurburgring in the summer this year and it was f**king great, although my 300 is modded. took it easy for the first few laps to know the track, then you get some brave pills and......... ooohhhh baby, you find out what a beautiful little puppy you have!!! some awsome slids out of the bends, and fantastic top end on the straights!!! going in 2009, around june/july. cant wait!!! al.

i still prefer my method.......lol!!!!! al.

or if this does not work, try this........ sit in the car with ignition on, turn steering wheel, press brake pedal, jump out of car and shout "F**K IT" run round car 5 times, kick the dog or cat, go indoors and have a beer and forget the test!!! i have tried it, and it never works!!! lol HTH al. :):hyper:

hi there, if u r not losing any fluid it could be a number of things. my hicas light comes and goes because of an aftermarket steering wheel, the sensors r not aligned on the coloumn. there is a test for the hicas system. try a search on here. HTH al.
