  3. While I remember, a lovely black (or very dark) zed shot past me on the a1 on the Friday evening. I was just on the slip road heading into Chester le Street. Got a nice smile from the lovely lady in the passenger seat :-) Anyone here? wondered if it was someone heading down from up north to JAE. Car had a high level spoiler and '99 spec rear lights. Cheers David
  4. Northbound through the tunnel this morning about 8:30. Anyone here? Was a bit late spottng you but I was in the black one heading south. David
  5. Also... Reports are also coming in that a mosque in the east of the capital has been surrounded by armed officers and residents told to stay indoors Sounds like the police must have good leads on yesterdays bombers. Good on 'em. ...Its goin to be interesting if a mosque is sheltering them though
  6. Yup, sounds like they wern't taking any chances. five shots at point blank range. Wonder if it was one of the bonbers from yesterday
  7. Anyone heard about the police shooting in London?? Shot some guy on the tube five times! Hope it was a bad guy they got!! David
  8. I think the buying guide will cover you for the health of a uk or a jap TT. You sure you couldn't be tempted by a nice black non-turbo? Mine is for sale. A good healthy runner with a brand new MOT and recent 60k service. Details in the cars for sale forum. Would leave you with plently cash from your budget for mods or petrol! David
  9. Guess you mean the arms rather than the blades. I had to resort to a hammer. Unscrewed the nut to the end of the thread but don't remove. One person pull the wiperarm away from the car. The other gives the nut a sharp tap. All three came straight off that way. HTH David
  10. Must admit I agree ...but I do seem to have finally come to terms with 'Snickers' over 'Marathon'
  11. aren't they 'starburst' now? I go for roundtrees fruit pastilles every time ...but in the box, not the tube. Nice David
  12. I loved 'A fist full of travellers cheques'. "That's me, Billy Belthorpe - the man with no name" :)
  13. 15000 miles my arse! He would have to have a ring and acid for sweat to do that much damage to a gearstick in that sort of milage! I've done more than that since I got mine and the gear stick is undamaged ...and it wasn't new when I got it!! Love the body kit though....
  14. you weren't wrong. Finally got the system regassed and it's working a treat
  15. Top tip! I was really struggling with one of the connectors on the idle valve assembly. Just wanted to check for corrosion etc but was terrified of loosing the metal spring bit or shattering the connector. Do you actually remove the metal clip completely or does the magnet just pull it out enough to let the clip come off with it in place?
  16. Cheers! I'll get that catalogue orders asap! David

That's great community service! Glad she's ok. I know I was very relieved to get though to my sister this morning and find everything was ok. David
  18. It is fantstic news! We'll be paying for it for years...
  19. anyone? I'm interested in some for sale at the moment and I'll not be able to check once I leave work as my broadband is knackered :( Cheers David
  20. Will TT springs and shocks fit an NA? cheers David
  21. Isn't that a bit high for normal idle? Thought it was more like 750? I've had a similar problem with hesitancy and a lumpy pickup when moving away at low revs. Helped it a bit by cleaning throttle bodies a while back but this weekend I managed to get the pipes off one of the valves at the back of the plenum (AAC or IACV not sure which one to be honest) and squirted in a load of carb cleaner. It ran like a dog for a little while but is now soooo much better! Also the idle dropped to 750 for the first time since I've had the car! Next job is cleaning the connectors to the valves to see if I can get the revs to drop a bit quicker - it seems sluggish getting down to proper idle levels David
  22. The zed engine seems to be full of connectors similar to the yellow one on the temp sensor. I can cope with that one as it's fairly accessable. Some of them are alomost impossible to reach. Is there a technique for dealing with the metal sprung clip bit on these to prevent breaking the connector ...or losing the metal clip ...or both!! Cheers David
  23. Do you get notified of new mail? Like a private message? david
  24. nice one! Not sure what I'll use it for but I like my new email address! David silverfox@300zx.co.uk
  25. Might have to give that a go. Do you clean the conector to the speed sensor, right under the car? Cheers David
