  1. Judge any on its own merits regardless of where it came from. I do wonder about the merits of folding mirrors. If you fold them in someone's more likely to clout your bodywork surely? Although one time they let an ambulance past that wouldn't have been able to otherwise.
  2. Cool! Have you driven it yet?
  3. Should I take the Bosch plugs out of my NA then?
  4. That sucks - gutted for you. There is that place that pays out for uninsured motorists - it's not quick but they might give you some money eventually.
  5. Lol - Imagine being the bloke that writes those! "Busty ninteen year old Tina from Blackburn just loves cooling off in the garden. She likes to handle the hose......." What would my mother say?
  6. My mate had one and said he got 20mpg if he was lucky in mixed driving. I think he drove it quite hard though.
  7. I think that's an NA. I think the turbo has twice as many of those big hoses going from the front of the car to the engine.
  8. I don't get to decide the content but if I was making a magazine I'm afraid there wouldn't be many 300ZXs in it - they're too old / rare and more people have / are interested in Imprezas / Evos etc. They have to make a profit at the end of the day.
  9. Cool - do you write stuff? Or ads for one of your business maybe?
  10. Sent me the wrong wheel nuts twice. First time the bloke hardly listened to my description - couldn't get me of the phone fast enough. Second time they got the thread pitch wrong. That's about three hours of my time they've wasted with trips to to post office to return stuff and aborted wheel change attempts. The guy I just spoke to on the phone wouldn't even tell me the boss's name so I could complain. I won't use them ever again.
  11. Not my car - my work. As some of you know I'm a freelance journalist and I've started doing some stuff for car mags recently. My first Japanese car piece is in this month's Japanese Performance (Jan 07) - p 80, six pages on an Impreza Type-R. Surely now I should get more power on here - just one ban a week sounds reasonable to me!
  12. And the next set arrived - and they're wrong too! WHat a bunch of incompetent fuk ups. They should be a 1.25 thread pitch but they're 1.5. I can't believe they sent the wrong ones twice. I really wanted to get these wheels on soon but it's just not happening. Plus once I've taken these back to the post office (again) with the time I've spent jacking the car off, taking the old wheels off, it's about three hours I've wasted. I'm self employed so that's about half a day down the drain. Does anyone know the name of the boss of this SW Tyres place? The lad I spoke to whole only give me the first name of his immediate manager.
  13. I know how you feel, but 40 minutes is taking the p1ss. I'd cancel everything with them and send their phone back and tell them to stick the lot up their arse.
  14. Ouch - gutted for you mate.
  15. So I'm guessing I'll get reduced performance / fuel economy then? The car seems to be running ok... is it really worth changing them? I'm sure if I go back to the local garage and say "some people on the internet say you fitted the wrong plugs" they won't give me a refund / change them. I guess this is what I get for using a non-specialist garage! I had the 60,000 mile service done last year by Zen Garage  and I thought I could avoid the travelling this year and get some local guys to do this service as not much would need doing.
  16. Deposit on a house is always a good idea. But it's a big commitment.
  17. It's all heresay and piffle! They're probably all made in the same factory in China. Has anyone got first hand experience of problems with Bosch plugs?
  18. Now you tell me! What's specifically wrong with them? I just paid the best part of £50 for the kuntz!
  19. The garage just fitted Bosch FR7DPP22U plugs. Are they right for my NA? I thought the previous set sould have been good for 60,000 miles so I'm a bit surprised they changed them.
  20. It's a broadly held belief in the medical profession.
  21. Remember the death duties if any of these generous elderly relatives 'pass over' in the next six years. 40% has to go to pay for all those who choose not to work etc!
  22. Lend us £20 to mend the shed. I can pay you back when I get a postal order from Australia. ;)
  23. I know, I know - flights and hotels are all booked for this already though. Hopefully I'll make one soon.
