  1. The Mrs is out at some meal with her family I skived off by saying I was fixing the cooker. Now I'm drinking fancy beer from bottles and watching Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.:duffer: :duffer: The enormity of the bossom is entirely justified by the script.
  2. Was out last night and the next few days will be biggies so staying in tonight. Will still have a couple of beers :duffer:
  3. Cheers - that means it's hopefully quite an easy repair - I buy a new one, plug it in and sorted... hopefully. Is it possible the elements in the oven has taken out the earth leakage breaker on the garage (RCD)? I'm using words I don't really understand here!
  4. I've found the element and taken it out. I measure about 140-170 K Ohms through it when disconnected. There's a small hole in it and it looks distorted in that area. Do you think the element's "gone"? Thanks lads!
  5. Cheers mate - I'll have a look for elements now....
  6. I'm stuck... The main oven in the cooker doesn't get hot. The light on the dial and fan come one. The rest of the cooker works fine. It's NOT a timer delay that's been accidentally set on the clock. Any ideas? Do modern cookers have replacable elements? Also... the garage has lost all power - the lights and sockets have stopped working. It doesn't use the house set of trip switches - it has it's own little set in the garage powered directly from the meter box / main sealed fuse. I've got my multimeter out and can't detect any power anywhere in the garage trip switch box. It was fine before - it just stopped working. Any ideas for either? Cheers gents!
  7. We have a present amnesty. No presents for anyone - makes the whole thing much easier / cheaper.
  8. I'm going to line my car with silver foil and always drive into my garage backwards - they'll never charge me a thing.
  9. Sorry to hear this mate. I'd say ditch her too. 'You can't hurry love', as Phil Collins said. The right girl will come along but you can't make it happen.
  10. Anyone know which type the 300ZX Z32 is? See pic... Or does it depend which wheels you fit?
  11. Welcome to the club mate. There's plenty of knowledge about the car on here so if you have any questions, just ask - or try searching.
  12. I want to replace the side lights and fog lights - I've got new bulbs to match my HID headlights colour. The problem is fitting them. THe instructions say remove the indicator housing - no problem. Then remove the three bolts holding the side/fog light housing in place - I can only see one peering in throught the hole where the indicator was. Any ideas? Cheers! :duffer:
  13. I had a problem like this after getting a stereo fitted. A really good search under there with a torch showed they'd dropped a screw into one of the tracks. I know you've already checked this but I only found the screw on about the third check.
  14. I think the media is horribly quick to make any story involving Muslims into a 'Them and us' situation. This story doesn't seem to be like that for once, thank god. But it looks like emigration proceedures need to be tightened.
  15. Christmas Eve - with the inlaws Christmas Day - with my folks New Year's Eve is the time to get wasted for me!
  16. I have to say that is astounding. Better than the snake regurgitating the hippo even. Or Britney's shaven haven.
  17. I'll check my receipts - I'm pretty sure Jeff put a new set in about 2-3 years ago anyway. And they should last 60,000 miles. So do I go back and complain? I might get some money back but I could never use thew place for MoTs again if I kick up a real fuss - they are quite handy as they don't mind a bike with a loud exhaust. I'll probably just never take the car there again. In all fairness to them, the plugs are due to be changed at 60,000 miles and my car had 59,000 on the clock...
  18. An older thread I resurrected suggests they're not quite the right length - for a TT - but I dunno if it will be a problem on m NA...
  19. Cheers mate. I think most of these magazine people are no stranger to stuffing a pound of crystal meth up their arse now and then so a little harmless crack pipage is nothing to them. ;)
  20. Cool. Faster than the Zed?
  21. Balls - is there anything I can take to the garage that fitted the Bosch ones that shows they're wrong and try and get my money back?
