  1. I always used budget car wash but I want to look after my 300! Any idea what the best car wash and polishes are? I thought AutoGlym but now maybe Zymol. Zymol do a seal conditioner which I reckon could keep headlight, targa and other seals good. Anyone know what the best stuff is? :hyper:
  2. Has it caused any problems John? (I think I need a bigger garage too!)
  3. My 300ZX is currently on my drive. I could make room for it in my garage but I'd have to throw load of stuff out and put my motorbike outside. It'd be a tight fit too. Is it worth garaging my 300? Does anyone else leave theirs outside? Does it cause any problems?
  4. And who do you work for Mr Lifesure? :D
  5. I took the ruber cover thing of the back of the bulb and it seeme to be working! Nice one Cos
  6. If you're having keys cut, take care who does it. My local Timpsons had two goes at duplicating my standard key with no success either time.
  7. I'd go for a 200sx. I had one and they're great. The S14 (94 onwards) is probably better, especially the S14A (from 97). A £3K 300 may well be grief. It may not, but if it is, you'll have some big bills.
  8. the misting is on the outer glass. would drilling a hole in the bottom of the unit help?
  9. Vijay That sounds like a good idea. If I just take a bulb out and put it in, it will be visible from the front... is there anywhere else I can put it and it'll work but not be seen? Cheers
  10. One of my headlights mists up. I've taken a bulb out and dried it with a hair drier, taking care it's a dry day etc etc etc. But sooner or later it mists up again. Should I be trying to seal it up better or make holes so it can 'breath'? Any idea how to do either of those? Or any other suggestions? I've done lots of searches and still don't know. :(
  11. I had a motorbike (a new R1) stolen a few years back. They broke into my house Saturday night to find the keys but I had them and was out. They came back on Sunday at midnight and knocked on the door with a baseball bat and a knife and gave me a bit of a doing over. When they were in court being sentenced ( ) I found out they had a gun on them at the time too. About the best thing I can think of to stop it happening again is a can of deodorant and a lighter. Not much will take that in the face at fairly short range. But if the gun is real, there's no arging with that really. And what if I'm not in and my girlfriend is? It's sad, but I'd rather they took the car. Yes I have a decent alarm and a physical lock but I wouldn't want anyone (or their girlfriend) to go through what I did. It was a long way from nice.
  12. My side indicators are a nasty orange colour while the front and rear ones are not. Does anyone know any clear or dark tinted replacements that fit? Also, how do you get the old ones off? Do they slide? If so, which way? Thanks gents :hyper:
  13. The car had a puff's voice! "MMmmmmm... Okayyy. Michael......mmmmmmm"
  14. My favourites too! "New ribs plase"
  15. I think it's the best show on TV, no doubt. But no-one seems to have seen it ever. It's on Challenge (121 on Sky digital).
  16. OK, nice one. I guess I'll get one. Just the fear alone is enough; waiting for that big 'crunch' won't be fun. I'm not too clever with cars and maybe will take it to ******** and let them do it. Do you think it'd be expensive to have fitted. I thin the kit is £110+vat but that includes swopping the auto cooler with something else and fitting a new one or something.
  17. HPi won't tell you about a foreign car. I had a BIMTA check which claimed to verify mileage and that the car was not stolen from Japanese records. It cost about £55 all in. Find them at http://www.bimta.org They said my car was not stolen and the mileage was correct but for all I know they could have just made that up. I do kind of trust them and it's another good piece of paperwork if I ever have to sell the car. Oh, and because I was worried about the running cost I bought a non-turbo which is a) a bit newer than a turbo I could have got for the money and b) maybe a little more reliable / cheaper to run. ( and c) slower!)
  18. I know people fit extra oil coolers to auto Zs. I rencently bought a non-turbo auto Z from Japan. Would that need an extra oil cooler or is it just turbo models that need it? :hyper:
  19. I'm waiting for a comedy double-entendre answer... Good advice though gents; I'll put some WD40 on it.
  20. The OE ariel is always going up and down as I turn the stereo on and off. I guess it would be kind to grease it. But when Halfords greased the ariel on my 200SX, it never quite worked right again. Is grasing the ariel a good idea? Is there a certain sort of grease you should use?
  21. Hmmmm.. after 20 mins doing the test all I know is that it doesn't work on my Macintosh. I guess if I was cleverer I should have guessed that before.
  22. I have a feeling all modern engine oils are amazingly good. I occasionally speak to one of Silkolelene UK's top technical guys and I'll ask him what he thinks is best (hmmm.. might be Silkolene though!). We stripped a motorbike (CBR600) which had only had two oil changes in 40,000 odd miles and it was pretty much fine. That said, I'd only want to put the right stuff in my Z. I haven't helped much, have I?
  23. Not sure what you want here. My car has no spoiler and I can send a pic of that if that's what you're after. :hyper:
  24. I looked insode for a number but Google didn't know what it meant. I had a go with the remote but it just seems to beep and turn the interior light on and off. I think I'll just leave it in a cupboard.
