  2. I've got a BMW on LPG due to the growing family. (It's BigJim's one - he's a real gent BTW). It has the gas tank in the wheel well. There's a spare in the boot but it takes up a fair bit of room. If I take it out I won't have a spare. Any idea if this is a good idea? I hear mixed messages about whether recovery services will help if you have a puncture. Also, what is best to do a temporary roadside repair? I've tried that aerosol foam in the past and it didn't always seem to work plus tyre places didn't want to do a proper repair after that had been used.
  3. I'm not kidding myself it's worth a fortune. All cars go down in value - although NSXs do seem to have increased a little over the last few years. I took it to Zedworld with the brief "If something needs doing, then do it". They only did the oil and filter and said it really wants for nothing so I'll probably keep it.
  4. Cheers for that. I guess I can carry the space saver in the boot, strapped down to something.
  5. Can't believe that German bloke got sort of booed for being German!
  6. I've got 18" wheels so maybe ths space saver wouldn't work anyway? I was thinking about LPGing it which would get rid of the spare all together. Are there any alternative solutions if you do get a puncture? I've used the foam aerosols before on a motorbike and they're ok but not brilliant (don't work well in the wet, only a temporary solution). Is there anything better out there?
  7. Thanks for the input gents. I think the 99 NA did get some useful updates; a stiffer chassis, the front bumper, brake mods, different controls, special glass etc. HIDs were standard on the 99 TT but not on the NA. I love the car but I suspect it'd sell for nearer the lower figures mentioned in this thread than the higher ones. I'm quite tempted to LPG it, keep it and use the wife's car for family duties. I don't know if I could bear to see someone else drive away in it!
  8. I liked Follow The Right Path last year. Also any break dancing. And people who think they're excellent at something but are actually crap.
  9. I love this show, I'll be watching.
  10. My second son was born on Friday so I'm considering my options. I've had my Z since 2004, I was the first UK owner. I bought it from Auto BMC in Watford. It's a genuine '99, S-reg, Skyline Metalic Purple, NA, auto, velour interior, impresive late spec. Just over 80,000 miles, about 50,000 done by me. Standard except: Ace Turbine staggered width 18" wheels, stainless Japspeed exhausts, HID headlights, Sony CD/MP3/Radio with upgraded speakers all round, Apexi air filter, upgraded suspension all round (KYB/Eibach adjustable I think) fitted about 10,000 miles ago. FSH, cambelt done at about 50k, serviced last week by Zedworld with the brief "If something needs doing, please do it". It only needed oil and filter plus a check over - they said it's tip-top. It's never gone wrong while I've had it or needed anything other than routine maintenance (maybe that'll curse it and the wheels will fall off tomorrow!). Any ideas what it's worth?
  11. Cheers gents. I think it was the lower end of that circular piece the shock goes through. The bloke doing the wheel alignment thought it might be easiest to replace the whole metal part, not just one bush.
  12. Thanks, that's excellent. It's not simple is it! (Either that or I am!) I think it's this bit (see arrow). Do the rear shocks pass through those?
  13. I'm up for a meet, when is the next one? A am busy though - what with the new job, moving house, leaving the (preganant) wife and now trying to get back with her life is busy. Don't expect the car to be clean!
  14. I was having my wheel alignment done and the bloke said a bush in the rear suspension was worn and should be replaced (I'd do both sides). It was the lower bush in the round (circular) metal part which fits over each rear shock and sits around it - if that makes sense? Is there a diagram anywere?
  15. I just bought the first one I saw.
  16. I can tell you're going to be a great dad. Nice one mate. Good wishes to your lady and little lad.
  17. I was in a little diesel shopping car for about 6-8 months. No-one paid me any attention. Now I'm back in the 300 people seem more likely to get out for some roadside remonstration. Co-incidence? Also, the police took no interest in the little motor but when I pass them or they pass me in the 300, they always try and look in.
  18. Go to court and you may get more points or a bigger fine. I got one a few months ago and was able to do one of those speeding courses which was good. Just got another NIP through and coughed. I did the crime, I'll take the points on the chin although it sucks. Might be different if I was on 9 points already....
  19. I did mine with the regular stuff, my mate did his about the same time with epoxy. His looks much better now, wish I'd paid the extra.
  20. Cheers chaps. I was out of work for about 18 months. Back working again now, started just over a month ago. Glad I hung onto the Zed, I sorned it for a good while.
  21. Cheers dewd! I got the Paypal one to work. I went via the link in the thread not the drop-down menu I was using before. Anyway, it's all sorted now, many thanks.
  22. Got turned away by three places today. My car's maybe 3/4" lower than stock and they all said they couldn't get it on their ramp. Any idea where to go? Thanks in advance.
  23. I don't get an option to do bank transfer, only paypal and that goes to a blank screen. I'm probably pressing the wrong buttons or in the wrong order or something.
