  1. Nice 👍 And by contrast, the runaround i am looking at buying this weekend is a Toyota iQ 😂
  2. @JaiKai should be able to sort this for you, and i am sure he will see this soon Dave.
  3. Maybe you saw me and decided to avoid me as not one of the interesting guys? Or i didn’t recognise you. Would be a shame though, as i would have liked to chat with you, apologise and explain why we sometimes clash, and to try and put that behind us.
  4. I recall a discussion with an mot tester with mine, and going through some guides like that, and despite me having that chart, he always got to a different outcome. Am glad that its definitely not needed, but i think mine always ended up passing anyway. Maybe he just didn’t like being wrong…
  5. Best wishes for a great end to your saga Nick, and as you say, your knowledge has been expanded as a benefit, despite the hassle and cost to get there.
  6. I think you do for a 92 onwards, to be visible but not necessarily tested for emissions, being the year specified from in the test
  7. I should be able to do saturday or sunday i think
  8. When you say “3 turns at cranking”, is this a few seconds of cranking, or 20-30+ seconds at a time? Running battery down after a few seconds would indicate a short somewhere, but if you are cranking a long time, then that would be expected to flatten battery. Did you remove plug after cranking and see if it was getting fuel, but you do need the spark check. Smelling fuel does not mean its going in, it may be a leaky pipe or a pressure regulator may have failed. Need to confirm through some of the basics.
  9. Check the advice from DaveMan just a few posts up
  10. Hi Nick I think the battery sounds knackered. Its not voltage you want to measure, but amperage, particualrly the cca value. A lot of batteries seem to have a “last gasp” reserve to start the car when they are going flat or dying, but then wont start again unless they have been running(charging) for a while. My bikes and Ultima suffer this if not left on trickle/saver, and once they go flat they never properly recover. After replacing a few batteries, investing in some Optimates has paid off for me. It “could” be starter if part of the winding is degraded. Or the immobiliser has developed a fault. But sounds like battery to me
  11. Have got family down that way, always a nice place to visit. Bit of a long detour from Beaulieu though! :-D
