Updated Exhaust and Jap restrictors
Hi Got my exhaust system upgraded today. Stainless Steel Mongoose Cat Back system. BIG Thanks to Jeff and Jamie. Wow.. doesn't the engine spin more freely ! When the old exhaust was taken off we discovered it was the originally fitted exhaust from Japan and Jeff showed me something that may be of interest to other owners of newly imported cars, or Jap cars with the original still in place after a year or two of UK winter salt ! The Cat Back part of the exhaust is restricted as far back as the first box. The exterior tube diameter is significantly wider than the inside of the pipe and this is apparently a way of restricting power in Japan. The down side is not only that but if you decat it you would still have that restriction in place... Bummer for those who don't know that ! And apparently it is rumoured that Smithy knows a way of decatting and adding a relief valve somewhere so you don't knacker the turbo seals... any advice anyone? .. Smithy ?... So whereas mine went like pooh of a shovel after the power upgrade and rechip, it now goes at warp speed... awesome !

pc problems
I think you need to keep pressing F8 during the boot sequence to get an option for a Safe Start then do a restore to last known environment and that should fix it Thats what I had to do on the Vista machine I've got

what make tyres
When I bought my zed it had Yokohama's on the rear and they were brilliant. When I had to change them I had to get Continental... they're crap Changed the fronts Michelin super pilot and they are very good, grip and quiet, albeit can be expensive... shop around

Good Paintshop is Digbeth Coachcraft.... speak to Ian .... he'll do you a good deal- A Warning
I agree about the tyre pressures, If one side is low and the others not it will always start to spin around the soft one... Thats experience from the Zed and a couple of Granada Cossies and it only needs to 1lb of pressure out to have an effect- Nissan 300zx Vein of my life
Got a new girlfriend (the love of my life) and introduced her to the Zed. She loves it and the speed it goes at ! She saw a 350z and said ' Is that a Z... not as nice as yours'.... so I floored it and out dragged it ! Seriously though beautiful machine worth spending money on to keep it in tip top condition Got to the best car I've ever had- water pipes rear of engine
Best to do a plenum bybass so that eliminates any potential problems there once the engine is back in. I had a history of leaks and have ended up replacing every hose, Radiator and Water Pump as everything failed one by one as each previous failure was replaced with new. Cost a bloody fortune doing it that way especially when the water pump failed and it ended up in a main dealers and I had to get a hire car !- new wheels
Hi Massive.... I might be changing my PIAA Rozza 17's if you're interested.... 4 Nearly new tyres on them Let me know... for a look check out the pics section and Lee's post TonyB part 2- Inspiration
I wish my suspension was as taught as in the first vid !- February Midlands Meet?

Hope you get it fixed.... let me know when and I'll message you when I'm down your way again- BP Ultimate V's Shell V Power...Which one??
Mine runs much sweeter on the Shell product..... only use the BP one when I cant get shell and its as smooth or quick.... Shell is best for mine- 17" and 18" wheels
Thanks Guys...- 17" and 18" wheels
Hi All Advice from the technically aware please... I've remeber a thread like this but can't find it I'm running 17" wheels at the moment. I've seen some 18's I like. What is the ratio between the profile for 17's and 18's to maintain the same overall diameter. The current 17's are 245/45/17... Anyone know the Answer ? is it 40 or 35 the ratio has to go to ? Thanks Tony - ZX300 TT Mechanic Birmingham
