alarm engineers
Well I have had some experience and some of the connections look like they dependent on the type of alarm circuit you are using.... Alarm circuits can either permanently 'Switched on' and trigger when the circuit is broken. These devices are connected in Series. Others, connected in parallel can trigger when any of the devices closes the circuit. Most common devices in these categories are door contacts in Series and PIR/Microwave devices that are connected in parallel. The bell box looks like it has connectors to be triggered either way, from a circuit closing or a circuit opening ie being broken and this is the safest way for the bell to protect it, so that if the wires are cut the circuit is cut and the bell or siren activates from the battery backup if the power has been cut On the bell box the BT should be the battery, given there is only a +ve and a -ve The St is the connection for a Strobe Light The H+ and H- I think are the connections for the trigger cuircuit going high or low as above On the box I would think that the single block of two connectors is for mains power in but I wouldnt swear to it because there is no earth. I would thing that the two +ve and -ve connectors are for the two different alarm circuits. 9 is an autodialler connection, 7 is the sounder and 5 is the engineer mode, possibly Tamper protection Thats as much as I can tell apart from to say that series connected devices will have one -ve contact and one +ve contact, Parallel devices will have multiple wires in both the positive and -ve. Hope this helps. If you can identify the board I or others may be able to add more information

numbers on cars
I think it's a racing club rule..... maybe RAC, BRSCC, BRDC or whoever organises races that say once the vehicle leaves the track the number must be taken off. That's why you sometines see cars with a big X across the number. But there agian if if you're not competing surely it would be car decoration. Live the VW Lovebug edition that came out with a number on the side

I fell like crying
Oh dear... we all mistakes and the thing to do is to learn from them. I've been in that situation several times and what I've learned is wait and let someone else take the first plunge and then to see how deep it is from where it comes up to on their car ! I once had to a 60 mile detour to avoid a flood I was't going risk the Zed in ! lesson learned matey.... leave it to dry out and I hope you get it sorted Tony

blue screen of death
Did you make emergency startup disks when you set it up or got it ? either a CD or floppies that you can use as an alternate boot source and then see if can access the C drive ? If not has anyone got a Copy they can email to you ? Then you can use that to boot the machine

blue screen of death
Unless I'm very wrong, and I stand to be corrected, that could indicate a hard drive failure.... Hope not for your sake and I hope you've got everything backed up

blue screen of death
What operating system..... You should be able to do a system restore but I don't know how to it in anything but Vista. If you boot the machine and keep pressing F8 you should get a menu offering Safe Mode etc and there may be an otion there Some of the IT Techies will be able to help more than I can but try that for starters Tony
