  1. I guess you must be involved with the police But as I said before - Drive round the M25 in the section mentioned at 72 mph and tell us all what happens ... I await your report with interest !
  2. this says it all http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-magazine-monitor-30841666 Exceeded a speed of 70 mph or 40 , 50 or 60 according to how the camera is set. They stay active at 70 as it says, because variable speed limit never shows 70mph, it shows a derestricted sign (National speed limit sign)
  3. According to the emails I have had from work and beat the speedtrap they are being prosecuted for 71 mph If you've faith in ACPO go on the M25 and do say 72 mph and see what happens !
  4. They are the people that have seen these new cameras in action If you want get pedantic take a drive round the southern end of the M25. We've had someone come into the office complaining the cameras are flashing like Christmas tree lights when there is no variaable speed limit set You may not have experienced them but if your in Surrey drive around and take a look
  5. Yes, I know but cameras used be set with a tolerance +10%+2mph so in a &) limit it was 79mph Now there is absolutely no tolerance is what they're saying And all I was doing was issuing a warning of the new cameras on the M1
  6. From an email at work and an email from from beatthespeedtrap.co.uk A sneaky speeding crackdown is set to catch motorists out on the M42 and M6 in Coventry and Warwickshire. Drivers could soon be booked for going just over the 70 mph limit. The threat comes from "stealth cameras" which were introduced to enforce variable speed limits on “Smart Motorways”. However it has now been disclosed that these cameras may be used to strictly enforce the 70mph speed limit during non variable limit hours. The West Midlands has two sections of Smart Motorways; the M42 to the West and the M6 to the North of Coventry. Also sometimes called “Managed Motorways”, the hard shoulder is opened as an extra lane to ease congestion at peak hours. Overhead gantries display variable speed limits, supposedly to keep the traffic flowing as efficiently as possible. Up until now the cameras have been switched off at quieter times, when no variable speed limits are in force. But that's all set to change... This misuse of these types of cameras has already happened before, in Kent… The first victims of the “stealth cameras” (also called Hadecs3) were on a section of the M25. 668 motorists were caught in the first three months after they were switched on. Of those, 520 drivers and riders received tickets where the limit was set at exactly 70mph. Now this totalitarian crackdown is set to be rolled out in the near future on the M42 and M6... So much for the Freedom Bill that was introduced by the Government in 2012! If you’re driving in these areas any time soon, watch out. All the best, Adam
  7. Overall sounds more like a MAF problem or a CAS problem
  8. I think they drop to the lower speed when the cameras are active but then revert to 70 when they are not. The cameras weren't active yesterday but these me cameras got someone on the the other carriageway yesterday Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  9. I think they'd take your Zed and put it in a crusher if you got caught with that ! Plus many Zeds are unique and can be traced through the DVLA
  10. You may read about the Highways agency putting in new speed cameras to catch motorists in an variable speed limit zone going speeding past a gantry where there isn't a camera Well they are now active and set for exactly 70mph on the M6, M42, southern section of the M25 and today I've just seen one in action on the M1. It flashed as a guy on the other side went past , Seeing what they look like and and knowing what to look for it seems they are going to be on every gantry soon because the control box and wiring is being put in place on loads of gantries.... and obviously already live on some You have been warned. I'll stick to the A1 and go cross country !
  11. ok well I hope you get sorted with O2
  12. Why not get a pay as you go 4g dongle for your laptop or tablet and not use your phone for tethering ? Or is the phone running loads of Apps that are all connected and downloading ?
  13. Tethering a laptop will chew data like its going out of fashion In fact I don't think that's in your allowance and they may charge separately for that
  14. The biggest benefit, I think, is that it won't pressurise the system and therefore there won't be any strain or stress on what in many zeds are old hoses and pipes
  15. Did anyone see Wheeler dealers last week with TR6 ? Ed put some waterless coolant into it Didn't know that existed 'til then Has anybody any experience of it because apparently it's good up to about 180 degrees and as low as -40 so you don't need antifreeze either If it's as good as it sounds can you use it in a ZED ?
  16. may be easier to buy a complete tailgate from a wrecker. That way you wouldn't have to mess about with the seals and trims and and with the money saved you could get it repainted.......
  17. doubt it's genuine Nissan cos it hasn't an opening cut for the side indicators
  18. Whats the point of putting Nevada plates on a right hand drive model He'd have done better inventing a UK style private plate to put on it......
  19. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-300zx-Twin-turbo-Manuel-/251784589155?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3a9f87ef63
  20. fit a pair of HIDs in them You'll be amazed at the difference
  21. No The wiring could cope with it on a 1995 series 4 but I've replaced them with HIDs as I said The 100 Watt give a yellowish light whereas the HIDS are white
  22. I have HIDs in both the dipped beam and in the fogs and I got some 100w xeno bulbs from halfords to go in the maim beam That was quite bright. then I thought sod it and put HIDs in the main beam as well and now it's bright as a cloudy day All you have to do with the main beam is flash a couple of time when you start off and holds enough power to flash again if you need to flash anyone. They come on all time when you pish the dip switch forward and have four HIDs in action
