Mine is still fitted with the original stereo. I might get round to fitting a new one some day. It only picks up radio 2 and plays those really weird plastic things with a lot of black tape inside!! I luv it!! (wouldn`t mind an mstation tho.) Anyone use them?

I think there are 8 people in the syndicate, so its not too bad and there are always other people in the club who you go up with if the syndicate plane is being used. :cool: let me know when you`ve done your first solo, although I`m sure every man and his dog will be told anyway. Thats what happened with me at least and I reckon it does with every one. Good luck with the training. And it goes without saying but.... enjoy yourself!!

The hangerage costs and the insurance were the main reason that we sold our Rans and are buying into a syndicate. Its £2000 up front and £40 a month which isn`t bad as that covers maintenance, insurance and hangerage. The only extra to pay for is fuel. I take it you`ve been told the old classic line- `There are old pilots and bold pilots, but no old, bold pilots` :)

For some reason I didn`t enjoy training for emergency landings. Are you in a syndicate or do you have you own plane. My father has just signed up for a share in a newly built RANS. (Fixed wing with a cabin to stay warm in!) I haven`t flown a flex wing yet but my younger brother is training on a Thruster (I think) and he says its better fun than a fixed wing.

Was it stalls or emergency landings. I love practising stall situations. Its like being on a roller coaster. :dance:

Hi Shaun. I started microlighting at the back end of 98 but I never got my license as we had to sell our RANS. But it was such a buzz and something that I`m definately going back to. I had about 16 - 17 hours in and was solo after about 7 hours (give or take a few mins.) I don`t know if you have to do 15hours dual before going solo as neither myself or my younger brother did. I think he did about 11 hours before his solo. Anyway. Wait till your first solo......you`ll LOVE it!!!! Everything happens quicker when there`s only you in the plane from take off run to rate of climb etc. It kinda caught me by surprise!! Theres nothing like it. Its not like the first time you go out in a car on your own. Its much better and scarier as you can`t just pull over at the side of the road. You`ve still got to get the thing back on the ground!!! As I said its something I`m going back to and i`m maybe going to do a bit in Australia when I head off on my hols on Friday. Lifes hard!!!

I did notice it wasn`t the cleanest but I wasn`t going to say ;) I had the same problem when I had a white z31. I just live up the road in Guide Post, but I used to live just up by the Bomersund Club, right opposite the council depot. Not far at all. If I see you around, or you see me (gun metal grey-H reg) then we`ll do the zed thing and stop with bonnets up. etc.

I thought I recognised the wheels from your pics. I drove past a couple of times to have a bit of a neb - like you do- but I was in a courtesy Ford Fiasco. I do like white zeds! I Know a lot of people disagree but I think they look the *****cks.
